This Sunday is the last day for the Arkansas State fair and it had me thinking if other states had State fairs and town carnivals and such. My town has a homefest. The town next to us has a strawberry fest, and we have county fairs as well. Do you have anything like this or is this a southern thing?

I live in Oregon & we have a huge state fair plus all the couties have county fairs. My little town also has Strawberry Festival & other towns have other little things too.

I've been here for almost six years, but have never been to any of the large fairs, are they worthwhile to attend?

Unfortunately, and they are terrible (California). I REALLY miss the West Virginia state fair, though. You could go there and see entire families sporting mullets. It was the best.

yes, never been to it though. too far away. a 2 hour car ride. We go to the county fair. It is only 5 minutes away.

Suburban New York. We have traveling carnival-type things that like to call themselves fairs. But no real state fairs.

Here in New York, we have state fairs.

I don't think we have a state fair (many county fairs though), but we do have a state farm show.

We have two, one for us in the main state of MI and one for the lower peninsula folks. We also have all the county fairs too.

Yeah, we have one in Marietta, GA around late September. I'm positive there's more in Georgia, but that's the only one I've been to.
