Sooo Phil Robertson (who is this person and why do we care?!) is evidently extremely against the practices of gay men (not sure how he feels about lesbians or people of other orientations)...saying that he can't understand why a man would go for anus when a vagina is so much better. (Gawd, I almost barfed just typing that out!)

So A&E suspended him from the show and their sponsors are saying they aren't pulling the plug yet.

And I'm reading the article and come across a missive from a gay (male) fan who is saying "he's just old school. Yes he needs to be educated but don't suspend him from the show."

Dafuq is this? If this man were a politician, a teacher, a counselor, or any other person in a position of INFLUENCE (which *ahem* he is, as a national TV sensation), people would be threatening to draw and quarter him in the middle of Times Square during a live broadcast.

So...my question to you is: does age excuse behavior? And is this whole situation not incredibly hypocritical or is it just me?

He grew up in the south and found his version of Jesus and his views. What did GQ really expect? He can say what he wants to say. From his point of view the Vagina offers a whole lot more. When did we start having so much intolerance? For either side? He's entitled to have an opinion and share it. Even if I don't agree with it. Every person is a person of influence in one way or another. At the end of day we need to be able to talk over these issues without it becoming so heated and polarized. We need to come together and talk. Its the only way real change happens.

Interesting response, and very politically correct. Which, since we're allowed to have our opinions, I find to be somewhat problematic as it doesn't really answer the questions I asked.

Why is the guy from Duck Dynasty allowed to voice his opinion but the CEO from Chic-fil-a draws a boycott of their stores when he voiced his (pretty much) exact same opinion?
