Getting Yourself to Work

Septimus Septimus
I've got a few reviews that I've been meaning to write, but I find that I'm having a hard time getting started. I know that I just have to get out of the house and into a good writing environment.
What do you do to jump start yourself when you're having a hard time getting work done?

Plan for it the night before. I get a flavored coffee creamer, plan the time for myself with plenty of tiny/free or very cheap but wonderful pleasures, and make it an event to look forward to doing. Believe me, when you plan that much for tiny but anticipated rewards, you are ready to review HOURS before you planned....

I use the toy the night before and fall asleep thinking about what I will write. The. The next morning it just flows out of me. If not I just write it in sections and save it as I go.

Realize you can't get another order til you finish your assigned/free reviews. That's usually motivation enough.

For me, some days just aren't good days for writing. If I sit there for a awhile and nothing is coming to me, I leave it for another day. Usually, on a day that is a good day for writing, I have no trouble and it just seems to flow!

Good luck!

Caffeine works for me! Whether I make myself a cup of black tea at home, or take my laptop to Starbucks for a latte, it always seems to help me get motivated.

I also find it helpful to listen to upbeat music while I work.

I make a list (with a few things on it I have already done) cross out the things I do, feel powerful, and get all motivated. Haha, I'm simple.
