That's sad. But I'm glad you knew her when things were good.

I think my uncle's grandmother was 106 when she died... I don't think I ever met her personally but we stayed in her house a lot.

my grandparents for sure. they're all in their early to mid 90's with my abulia turning 95 very recently, all still living at home (although with some aid for cleaning/cooking/ect). they're all amazing people and i love them a lot.

Both my great-grandmothers (mom's mom's mother, and dad's mother's mother). Both are 100, though Great-Grandma Jane (the latter) died recently, just two weeks shy of her 101st birthday. Both were living on their own, sharp as tacks, a little deaf, but vivacious old Celtic bitches. Big Mama (the former) is still toodling along. I remember Great-Grandma Jane was pissed the day she was told to give up her driver's license because of her hearing loss. I still think the Beach Boys had her in mind when they wrote "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena".

My Great Grandma will be 99 next month. Her mother lived to be 102 and I met her when I was a really little, but I didn't really know her well.

I actually knew someone even older than she is, many years ... more

Up until recently, my 97 year old great-grandfather was the oldest person I had ever known. I recently waited on the sweetest lady at work not too long ago and she beat him out, she turned 100 shortly before coming in for lunch at my restaurant!
