Part Time Jobs

Contributor: Tori Rebel Tori Rebel
Does anyone here work part-time, or part-time in addition to full-time? I'm starting to think I'm going to have to give it a go - I'm sick and tired of being broke all the time. So if you do, what do you do? Where do you work? Do you like it?

Technically I guess they're both part time jobs, but one I deliver car parts, and the other I work nights at a bank. There are days that I enjoy both jobs, and days that I wish I didn't work at all. But it's not all so bad, being able to buy my own things instead of having mommy pay for everything makes it all worth it

I tutor at the college that I go to. Since I am getting my degree in mathematics in order to be a college professor, it works out well for me. I've been looking for a separate job though, even though they've since given me more hours.

And this is a part-time job, mind you. I do not have a full-time just yet.

I have a friend who has 3 part time jobs and she is so happy and has so much flexibility. She works at an accountant's office doing books and filing 2 days a week, a gardening service 1 day a week doing their book, and a retail book store on the weekends. She can shuffle the book-keeping days when needed, and have someone cover shifts at the weekend job when needed. Seems like it works well for her.

I have worked a PT job while having a FT job, and I was always exhausted. I often had no day off, or one day - and it was never a weekend day.

Gary works 7 days a week, and I WISH he'd just get rid of the Saturday shift at the porn store, so we could have one sleep-in day a week!

I work 2 days at a landmark diner in my state, so i get decent tips each shift, ($100-$130 for about a 7 hour day, plus $5.52/hour wage) but I have been trying to get another day to no avail. It annoys me because I have been working there for about a year and a half, and there are full time employees who've been there for half as long. I also help my boyfriend with a landscaping business that he is in the process of buying from his (awesome!) boss. I help him weed whack, leaf blow, mow with the push mower, and weed. I don't get paid hourly, I basically just do it to help him out. His boss does pay me if I do something like weeding his yard for a special occasion, but since I generally don't help out massively, I don't get a regular pay.

I am moving right down the street from a sex shop in the near future, so I'm considering working there PT, since I definitely know a few things about the adult industry.

My site isn't yet up-and-running due to some setbacks (having to live in my parents house until we get a new place.. makes it hard to do porn) but that's also a job in itself. I hope to be able to just do the website and anything involved with that, and help my man with his landscaping business one of these days, but that's gonna be a while.

So for now, I get money any way I can.

I work part-time/full-time (depending when they need me) at a local hotel on night shift. If you want an easy job, I'd recommend it as long as you live in a safe town. It's quite easy, and I really like it. I basically get to read or work on homework while watching the front desk.

I'd never even considered that and there are a couple of quiet business hotels (a Hampton Inn and a Hilton Garden Inn) between where I work full time and where I work - I'll definitely have to take a look into this! Thanks Mistress!

Now that I'm full-time at EF I can't imagine taking on a second job. I would just be too exhausted and unable to give either job a 100%.

That's one of my hurdles right now. I'm kind of afraid to either exhaust myself or deny myself a social life. I worked full time and part time for years and it's a tricky balance sometimes. But from a financial aspect, it would be a help of truly epic proportions.

Why would you even want a second job?

I have a full time temp job right now. I work for the government and I love it because I can make my own hours. I get paid really well and so I overlook any small complaints I have (I meet some pretty grumpy people lol). Being able to live away from home, with my boyfriend, in our own apartment is awesome. It also allows me to get my masters. This is the first job I have had where I am actually putting more money in my savings than my checking. It rocks. I totally suggest trying to get even a part time job. The experience will help you later on.

I actually do really well at my full time job and can't complain at all. There are bad days anywhere, but for the most part, I love it. I've been here for 6 years this October and they joke that this job has already outlasted my marriage - which it did, I started here engaged and am now divorced I love my apartment and I know that I live in an expensive county and have a vehicle that's probably more than I need but I bought it when I was married and had 2 incomes coming in so ya live, ya learn, ya finance less next time.

I want to try and find something I like just as much as what I do now, but not something exactly the same - so I'd rather it not be office work but I'd take it if I could find it. And I've done retail but the pay is low and it's a lot of time on my feet after 9 hours at my day job. And it can't be something where I'm out so late that I can't function at my day job. It's frustrating trying to find something, to say the least!

I am enlisted for the United States Marine Corps, thats pretty much a full time job then some.

I however do enough volunteering with the USO and then every week ile also do some work over at the local soup kitchen.

So Ime not paid for it but it makes up for those hours.

As far as moeny part time job I love cars (preferbly diesel) and miltiary vehicles. I will buy an sell at least one a month.I can be found at the auction house every other friday lol. Its not much moeny but it pays the utility bills, and toys lol. Basicly buy it fix it up, go sell it. Or buy it for parts and sell each part indivually on ebay.

Do you use ebanned or another service? we've had discussions about this on her before but no one had really tried it. I know some girls have their own website where they sell the panties. Just curious, as I'm considering it

I actually know someone that's been doing phone sex for about a decade now (a friend of my mom's) and she makes more doing that than I do at my day job!

I have 2 part-time jobs, but I'm primarily a stay-at-home mom. One job I do a few days a week while the kids are at school, and the other one is on Sunday afternoons. Neither one pays well, but that's what I get for dropping out of college. Besides, every little bit helps.
