A friend of mine came up with an interesting variation of an absinthe drink that she never got around to creating, but sounded intriguing for anyone who can manage it (mainly, acquiring a -50F freezer). I've no desire to try this out, as it sounds incredibly dangerous.
Cambridge Emerald Faerie
sugar water (1 part sugar to 2 parts water) poured over
2-3 frozen absinthe "ice" cubes
in a rocks glass
Allow the absinthe cubes to melt a bit before drinking
