Mechanical Pencil because I make mistakes and like the ability to erase plus it's easier to refill/sharpen than a regular pencil.

Preferably - honestly - something to type with. I can't really write as quickly as I can think so I tend to lose train of thought etc.

But if I must - caligraphy pens. I have one with green ink and it's lovely. It's rather cheap though... came with a set for srap book decorating my mom had but handed off. Shame others are so expensive really.

Bar that a ball point pen... smooth glide yus

Pencils are reserved for drawing. Writing with them cramps my hand.

Mechanical pencil, ball point pen, or a gel pen. When I'm drawing I use a mechanical pencil and then go over it with pen.
