Road trips:do you prefer to drive during the day or at night?

I prefer driving a night because there are less drivers on the road. During the daylight hours, there are too many crazy drivers! I want empty roads and no distractions from crazy drivers!

Agree! plus i love to be able to see the sights during the day.

I rather at night... I live in Louisiana and as we all know most of our divers are horrible... this is the only place I know that a drizzle will cause everyone to become handicap behind the wheel

i only chose day driving because I cant see well at night even with my glasses on!And I have so sense of direction so Im unable to see landmarks at night,but if im not driving then i dont care!

Interesting. We're actually going to be on our way to Panama (8 hour drive from here, Georgia) in just about a couple hours. I'm pissed because I wanted to drive at night! Screw the daytime driving. I like arriving before really late at night, but I just hate the mid-day drive. Traffic--ick! Heat--Ick! Air conditioner -- too cold! I just can't get comfy. However, we usually have a blast on the ride down there. But nighttime is so my time. I love the evening hours. I'm always happier at that time. I'm grumpy in the morning. So very grumpy. In fact, I've not slept because I know having to be up in a couple hours will have me raging, so I'd probably be easier to be around with no sleep rather than waking up. I don't know why I'm like that.

I can say I love when it's getting evening/dark and we're about to arrive at the beach. It's the best, most comfy time. I'm all relaxed and had some car-sleep by that time (hopefully anyway!) and everything's just wonderful. So, I agree, nighttime all the way. I am kind of secretly hoping that we don't leave until tonight. Lol. I know the rest of my family aren't going to go for that crap though.

Also, nighttime, you can play in the car. Well, not the driver. Lol. But that's the fun part, being the passenger with a purse full of toys. I was looking forward to spending my time with my purse (which is PACKED FULL of toys at the moment. Lol. I'm really ready for this one) in the passengar seat. Guess I'll just be sour until this evening comes.

Mini road trips I can handle during the day, but I'm still grumpy.

Well, I don't drive, but when I'm on vacation with my family, I mostly prefer day driving, but it all depends on where we are, and what kind of vehicle we're in... Last road trip we went on, we were driving my dad's truck and towing our camper up in moose country, and when it got to be night time and we were driving on roads with some sharp turns and no streetlights, I got very nervous...

I don't care. There are pros and cons to both that pretty much even out for me.
