Ron Paul 2012

General Disclaimer: I know that politics are not always tons of fun to discuss, but I thought that I'd post this for anyone who is interested in learning more about Ron Paul. I've never been hugely into politics but, as I'll explain below, I've recently become very involved in learning more about the current political environment.

A couple of months ago, a friend of mine started sharing some articles and videos with me on Facebook about Ron Paul. For those of you who don't know, he is one of the GOP front-runners for the 2012 presidential election. I had heard about him, since he has run previously both in 1988 and 2008, but my knowledge on his various stances and who he is was limited. In short, after doing some research of my own, I became increasingly intrigued with him -everything from his consistency to his experience to his policies.

I was amazed at how little I had known of him before I began actively seeking out this information, and I realized that this was largely due to the limited airtime that is afforded to him by major media. I thought that I'd link a few things to this post that I were at least beneficial to me in understanding who Ron Paul is, as well as why he is not given as much attention as he most likely deserves.

A good overall view of his policies: Ron Paul: The Only One We Can Trust

An interesting (and artistic interpretation) of a though-provoking speech on his foreign policy: Armed Chinese Troops in Texas

A humorous (but eye-opening) look at the media's treatment of him: Jon Stewart on Dr. Ron Paul

Here's a site with practically every one of his speeches/interviews: Ron Paul Flix

And finally, here's his campaign page that shows his stances on all major policies: Ron Paul 2012

I voted for Chuck Baldwin last time. Ron Paul endorsed him. I want to believe Ron Paul is a good guy who is in our corner. Of course it is hard for me to trust any politician. Are you a member of Campaign for Liberty? I am. Thanks for posting this.

Any politician who's an Ayn Rand fan is enough not to take them seriously.

I completely agree with you in regards to trusting politicians. Up until now, I've viewed the voting process as choosing the lesser of the two evils, but for the first time in my life, I'm actually genuinely excited to say that I'll be voting for a candidate who I fully support and trust.

I'm not a member of Campaign for Liberty, but I'll definitely look into it. Thanks!

I truly think that that's changing this time around, though. Through everything that I've been learning about him, it's evident that his support base is already monumentally larger now than it was at its peak in '08. I plan on staying involved in actively discussing this with those who are interested and hope that awareness is raised, which will hopefully result in more people taking him seriously.

I am all for Ron Paul. He seems like an overall great guy, very few things I disagree on and none of them seriously enough to sway my opinion.

Thank you for sharing this with the community!

I'd vote for him. He is the only candidate who doesn't make me want to flee the country and live elsewhere

Of course! I just had an urge to pass on the information that I've been collecting, and I hope that this may save someone else the frustration that I experienced when I realized that I hadn't heard much about him until now.

***By the way, if anyone is interested in Ron Paul and would like to be actively involved in helping him win the republican nomination, you have to vote in your state's primary. Here's a link I've found to be helpful: How to Register for Ron Paul
