Simple looking or whimsical toys? :)

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf 03/09/2012

Do you prefer simple looking toys (including elegant or just plain shapes, colors) or whimsical ones (including vivid, artistic, fancier looking)? :)

And why do you prefer those toys more?

(Let's say that the performance and any other features don't count now, so I am not going to include "it depends on the toy" and "other"... )

I'm an equal opportunity toy enthusiast. If I wasn't so organized some would call me a toy hoarder lol

I'm willing to give anything a shot based on functionality and aesthetic appeal.

It depends on if the "whimsical" toy is also functional. If it works well, then whimsical. If it doesn't, I'd rather have a simple toy.

depends on how it works

I like both! As long as it's functioning and I like it!

It's more on the ratings than the design!

I base my opinions on ratings, vrooms, and if I think it will work for me.

First I look at volume, then I look at waterproofness, then I look at design. But I PREFER whimsical designs.

I voted I can't decide, but that is because function is the most important feature. As long as it works I don't really care what it looks like.

both!

It really depends on the toy itself in terms of how quiet or powerful it is but I find my tastes lean closer to the more whimsical looking toys most of the time.

It all depends on my mood. I think I gravitate slightly more towards whimsical, though.

Doesn't matter, only when the only difference between toys of the same quality is the design.

I like a mix of both, if it's simple it should be sleek, elegant, and shaped really well. If it's more whimsical/fantastical the design elements shouldn't interfere too much with the pleasure. But a mix is good to have, I don't want to just have 10x of the same thing in my collection!

Rather than the look, most of the time I go for a toy that seems like it will feel good.

I like both. But I have more simple toys rather than whimsical.

Definitely both. Sometimes, whimisical can be fun, but other times, classic designs are better.

I have some simple toys and some whimsical, elegant and a few "odd" toys. Hey, variety is the spice of life, right???

I like the simple and whimsical ones since they seem honestly the same and have that random fun tone about them. But when I get serious I obviously want the ones specifically used for whatever part I decide to go to work on.

My toys are all spare, simple designs and whimsical designs. No realistic stuff here.

Whimsical if it works as good as it looks. Simple toys are nice, too.
