Mail Days May Be Cut?

Contributor: Nashville Nashville
link Yahoo News featured an article about the Post Office's dilemma. They estimate they may just halt delivery on Tuesday's. If this happens, do you think you'll be greatly impacted because you rely on the mail system to receive your toys? Of course they don't plan on this going into effect for a while.

I saw this article too and it made me think of Eden right away! I think that one day won't make a HUGE difference to the average consumer, but the impact will be felt more on Eden's side - perhaps with a larger backlog of shipments to go out. Perhaps they would have to account for this in the shipping costs or for sure the time frame for deliveries. For the reviewers, I think we should go back to sending an email when we receive our review items just to make sure we have enough time to fully explore the possibilities of our toys for accurate reviews. These emails could be kept track of by a computer program that automatically tallies the responses rather then someone physically needing to check each time.

I hope it doesn't come to this though! I want my toys faster!

I hadn't heard of this. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think it will bother anyone that much. It will be more of a hassle in the context of EF here but I don't think 1 day is anything to get your panties in a bunch over.

I think if they have to do it that Saturday is a better choice. The mail is usually light for most people on Saturday and most post offices are already closed or only open 1/2 a day anyway. I did think about EF but I don't think it will be that much trouble. Every package I get from here is shipped faster than with any other website, so I won't mind an extra day.

Unless you're waiting on panties. Or other suitable undergarments. In which case...well, they won't be in a bunch then, either, as they'll be in transit.

Never mind.

Ahaha! Well, if you're waiting on them how are you going to check the mail?! Naked?!

I would rather Tuesday than Saturday. I don't know why but 2 days just seems too extreme

I think UPS and FED-EX should take over the entire mail system. They have a proven track record.

I would vote for Saturdays over Tuesdays to have no mail delivery. Having worked in the legal system for 10 years, I can list over 20 ways the mail not being delivered on Tuesdays would screw up the legal system worse than it already is. Specifically, there are SO MANY specified time periods for filing of documents in the court systems which would have to be rewritten because courts would still be open on Tuesdays, but mail wouldn't be delivered to them.

Saturdays are already not considered traditional business days. Banks, courts, etc., don't need the mail delivered on Saturdays anyway.

This is the first I have heard of there being no mail service on Tuesdays. Without any facts to back this up, I am of the opinion that the USPS is, and has been having mounting difficulties keeping up with the times. Between email replacing mail, online bill payments, and a growing handful of successful competitors, the USPS is struggling to keep its head above water. As far as having an impact on receiving shipments, if you don't get it on Monday then you will get it on Wednesday, no big deal. Wait until the USPS only delivers on Fridays!

YES! It has effected me big time! My job has a lot to do with sending out customer orders of acrylic nail designs and it's caused a big mess over this and I honestly think they're cutting a lot more than what they say out! I've had sooo many issues with out post office lately I'm ready to pull my hair out. They destroyed 7 packages of mine including all of my school books that were sent. They were all opened and looked as if they'd been ran over! I complained and it does no good. Also, 2-3 of my purchased orders from different companies just never showed up! I hate this mail crap that's been going on and we've got customers complaining about their orders showing up 1 hour late! I actually had a lady get angry because the mail ran late this last tue and she chewed ME out!
