Shelf Life of Massage Oils - Looking for Advice/Info

Contributor: Pete's Princess Pete's Princess
I am trying to find some information on how long you can keep massage oils. My sweetie is going to be gone a lot over the next year or so. I would like to purchase a variety of oils but do not know how long they can be kept. Is there some ingredients that cause massage oil to go bad? Also, is there a difference in shelf life between opened and sealed massage oils?

I was having the EXACT same questions! I can't find any solid information on the subject, but I would assume they would last no longer than a year. If you notice a change in texture or smell throw them out, but other than that I can't give you any advice. :c

Most stay good for 6 month-2 years depending on the type of carrier oil and what other ingredients are in the oil. They will last longest if you keep them in a dark place like a drawer or something. If you want something that will last longer than that jojoba oil will last almost indefinitely and you can buy it at most health food and natural stores. Oils will usually smell a little bit off once they've expired.
