Toys from other stores

Do you think it's inappropriate or "cheating" to review toys that weren't bought on Eden Fantasys? Why, or why not?

I think that if it is something purchased prior to being an active member on EF, and as long as it is not done excessively, then it is appropriate to review the exact same item. However, if it is done excessively just for points--then it would be considered to be taking advantage of Eden. I understand that EF is a product review site, but it is also a retail outlet for these items. They depend on sales to keep the review and community part in business.

i prfer to post those on my personal blog. this way you can get a personal following before you 'fly away' from eden and become an affiliate member- which will still support eden. works great because if people see your videos then see little blurbs for the awesome toys you review on eden (but not the same reviews cause thats against the copywriting rules) then they'll follow your link to eden giving you affiliate rewards and eden new customers, and new community members and the people a new community to be a part of! works great

It's totally fine to review toys bought from other places...just don't say where you got them

I don't see how reviewing products that you didn't buy from Eden (that are listed as being for sale on Eden) would be taking advantage of EF.

The reviews are useful in helping to sell the product, even if the item wasn't purchased from here.

My thought was that if someone reviewed something from another site and people were excited about it, it could be something EF would want to consider carrying. If not the same product, then something similar. People learn about something new* and EF makes more money. Everybody wins.

The bad thing would be if someone wanted a reviewed item EF didn't sell and then the person bought a product from a competitor. After not owning too many items myself for many years, I recently started shopping on this web site. I have tried to look at others, but I really don't like to. I prefer EF over any others I've seen. (Not trying to suck up; just giving an honest opinion.)

*I say people learn something new but I know it probably takes a lot for people that have been shopping for these products for a long time. Newcomers like myself are still thinking, "That thing does what?!"

No, I don't think there is anything wrong with doing that. I mean by posting your review here, you are HELPING EF. I did it when I first came here and I did it with one of the glass toys I bought after being here awhile.

Cheating here at EF to me is copying someone else's review or reviewing something that you don't even own and never have.

I can NEVER imagine why anyone would think this practice is wrong. If I buy something from ebay but it's listed on Amazon, I couldn't write a review? Dur...

sometimes i read a review that looks this way because its just 'off' and it seems like a sales pitch and varies so much from the other reviews. i'v even noticed that some of them are displayed on the product pages- not the entire review but under the "most helpful" section. suspicious and just the thought of someone writing a fake review pisses me off, i mean i used to work in a sex shop so i've handled tons of toys that i don't own and even if i do own- other fun factory toys for example, i would never write a review based on assumption.i've been wrong about too many toys before. that and its just wrong

Since JR is the review man and he says yes, then it's a go ahead! I had purchased things from other stores that I had reviewed on Eden. I did this because I had a few items from before becoming a member here and also I've purchased products that weren't available here at EF and then later on they were offered here but I had already purchased it elsewhere.
