I just noticed this stuff about upgrade requests. Being fairly new to the Eden Community, what are upgrade requests about?

Good evening. At night, it takes a bit longer to have your questions answered, since many of us are on East Coast time, where it's just after 4AM, so a bit of patience is often helpful.
In any event, the 'upgrade requests' feature is part of one of the ways to become an advanced reviewer. After newcomers have submitted two or more reviews, they can request a community vote to upgrade them to advanced.
The other way would be to be a part of the mentor program, in which you pair up with a more experienced community member, who looks over your reviews and helps you to polish them up--as well as answering any questions you may have. Each of these options can be found in your account (upper left corner of the site).

If you are involved in a mentoring class, I strongly suggest you speak with your mentor before considering a community vote.
