So, i initially had been asking about anal beads, as someone still somewhat new to anal play (very slender smooth dildos/vibes, and boyfriend's penis,) and was considering verious options for beads. Then someone suggested the Tantus Ripple as an alternative to beads, and I have to say that i like the looks of something like that. I saw there was a lot of alternatives like the Ripple, so would like to know what people enjoy, and preferrably why. Please keep in mind i'm new, so i'm not comfortable with really thick toys up there yet, and i'm not looking for the toy to stay in there long periods of time/while out and about. Thanks a lot!

I love the Groove, but the Ripple still wins. The ripple starts nice and narrow, and gets wider very slowly, so this is very beginner-friendly. But the shape and placement of the bulbs are really delicious, and should appeal to most people. This means this is a toy that'll grow with you.

I love the Ripple the beads start out small and work there way up in size, even the largest bulb is not scary big. You should be able to take the Ripple just fine and the bulbs really add a nice sensation.

I think the tantus ripple would be best for a beginner. Nice shape, none of the bulbs are too large. The other ones are quite a bit bigger if you take a look at the 1:1.

Thanks for the feedback, the size issue is what concerns me the most, and that one looked about what i could handle

I was looking at the actual diameter measurements, which said they were all about the same with one exception.

Ripple would be first choice - it looks nice and gentle and that's definitely important for me. Groove would be second choice but having just moved over to Tantus from previous Doc Johnson dildos, Tantus wins every time for me

None of these are likely to work well as plugs. The Ripple is a good toy, well thought out. Encore also looks nice, especially the base (stiff enough to grab for thrusting, oval so it is comfortable during use).

Note - while they're not likely to work well as plugs, this doesn't mean they're not very good toy choices. They're great for probes, small dildos, or if you're looking at beads (better than beads - you can put them in much easier).

Most of these are silicone, and for a butt toy I'd only recommend silicone for a beginner. Later you can move into glass, metal, or the like, but all anal toys should be bodysafe (chemicals are easily absorbed through the rectum), and nonporous/sanitizable.
