How long can you keep a butt-plug in?

I've wore one for about 8 hours during school and work one day. It was fairly small and didn't seem to cause any problems for me.

I've also wore a large plug(2" diameter) for a couple hours while waiting for my boyfriend to come home without any problems.

I have worn one for about 8 hours as well. I have heard of people sleeping with them in though, so 8 hours seems like not a big deal. I think I have heard of people that wore them for long periods (days) just taking them out to defecate, but I haven't ever done that so I cannot comment on the safety or how comfortable that is.

I've done overnight once. Safety wise there isn't a big deal from wearing them a long time, but it just seems like it could get inconvenient and ... messy now and then. After a while I do find that it gets a bit uncomfortable as the lubricant dries out or rubs off, and I'm not sure how to deal with that. Oil lubes seem to work better, but they're messier on clothing.

Generally now I keep my "plugged time" to ~4 hours max because of the lube thing. Removing a plug that's lost it's lube is not too fun.

Can I ask a really naive question? Why would anyone want to leave one in for a long time?

It's nice to leave it in for a while because it provides extended stimulation to the prostate and a prolonged feeling of anal fullness. For some people, keeping them in during the day can be a nice way of having a private thrill in public.

How long? For me it depends on the plug and what I am doing. If I find it uncomfortable I take it out. I carry a small bag in my purse for that purpose.

I love the stimulation esp when driving and running errands. Never went for eight hours, also for the prior reasons.

I think the longest I can go is about 9 hours. And that's only cuz I got stuck in traffic on the way home! And it was a pain and a million to get out!

But i went out to the mall once with it. Bought (and tried on) some jeans, shirts, and stuff. Got some shoes. Went to Best Buy. And the entire time I was crazy turned on. Every little thing I did had this new context and stuff.

For long term wear: Invest in a good quality, thin stemmed plug that stays put, and a good thick lube. Non-porous stainless & glass tend to stay lubed longer, a curved plug is better, a good flared base is a must.

I prefer the NJoy Pure Plug large, typically worn 6-8 hours at a time, mostly for the naughty factor and always for the great fun afterwards, g/f likes her Pure Plug medium. Sometimes I sleep with mine in, never had a lube problem with removal. Everyone's different, re-lube as needed. Long term wear quickly gets easier with practice, work your way up gradually. I often wear this plug out in public with no worries. Get the right plug and a thick, long-lasting lube and have some fantastic naughty fun!
