Can rechargable/silicone coated toys be disinfected with a 10% bleach solution?

Contributor: wetone123 wetone123
This may sound stupid but I need to know if rechargeable/silicone coated toys may be disinfected in any way? I know they may not be boiled. I am specifically speaking of Jimmyjane Form toys and Jopen Vanity toys. I have gone through a dozen reviews and 2 instruction manuals and haven't found any info on this. HELP!!!

I'd probably just call the manufacturer to be safe.

There's no reason it would damage the silicone, since it's the same as any silicone dildo that can be bleached. The only way it could ruin your vibrator is if it got into the charging port or buttons. I have bleached my Forms and Jopens, amongst others, with no damage. For the Forms I make sure just to dip the silicone portion into the bleachy water, not the metal part that's the charging contact. The same goes for Lelos or other toys with plastic bases, I only put the silicone parts in the bleach. For the Jopens you should be fine putting the whole thing in since it's entirely silicone and waterproof. I've still always kept the charging port out of the bleach, although that's not really logical since I've submerged them in water. Guess I just like to err on the side of caution.

Toys with batteries or metal parts will be unsuitable for total immersion; Wash the end without the batteries with soap and water. Soak the end without the batteries in a 1:10 household bleach solution for 10 minutes to disinfect. (Directions for 1:10 household bleach solution on reverse.)

I guess this also applies to sex toys.

Thanks for the info. This was very helpful. I've never had a rechargeable toy and since there was no info to be found about it, I was thinking it would mess up the charging of the toy somehow.
