boning?
Don't feel like an idiot,it's easy to overlook things sometimes. But I checked out the Product Overview and this is what it says:

Also, the corset is pre-laced, so you can just untie the bow in the back when you get it, release it to max capacity (and not worry about having to re-lace it, given how it is laced) shimmy into it and then retighten and tie it.
As for top and bottom? It's very obvious which is which. The bottom flares out for your hips, and the top just looks like the top - it's pretty much shaped for your torso.
Pretty good corset/garter, but what are you looking for overall??
