I recently had a trial-size silicone JO lube container leak and put a nasty stain on my carpet. I've never purchased lubricant based primarily on the container, but I'm considering to start this practice. Ever judge a proverbial book by it's cover like this?

Sort of, I always look for pump tops when I can. They only take one hand to use and typically do not leak. I have gone so far as to clean out an empty Maximus bottle just to put new lubes in if they don't have a pump top.

Did you try using Vinegar to get the stain out? Vinegar works really well for most stains.

I have a TON of leaky lube containers! The only one I have that doesn't leak is my Sliquid one. I feel like it's a big deal, especially if you're taking it somewhere with you.

I hate things that leak. I usually store my lube containers inside of a sealed baggie just incase they leak. I do not want it to get all over everything else I keep in the drawer with it.

For oil based lubes, use talc powder, reapply and vacuum. continue doing so until the oily stain is pretty much gone. Then go back over it with shampoo on a rag until you feel the oil is removed completely. Rinse well until no suds come out. Try baking powder in place of talc and do the steps above for silicone lube. For water based, shampoo with carpet shampooer or do the soap and water until gone.

I re-use my good pump bottles for lubes if they leak even a little....saves damaging the carpet, nightstand, toy trunk and other toys or my overnight pack.

I've actually thrown out some warming lubes form Passion Party because of that. I have found though that the Toko, even though it's non pump, doesn't leak that I've noticed. I'm even not snapped it all the way sometimes and still doesn't. Haha. I love it. Haven't gotten around to trying out others though since I just got this one a bit ago.
