I prefer Maximus, it is somewhat thicker, good for all types of play and no residue. Liquid silk also feels so good but doesn't last as long as Maximus. Also with Maximus, a little goes a long way..

There are two things I dislike about Liquid Silk:

1. it's a hybrid, so it can't be used with some silicone toys, and
2. it has that horrible bitter taste.

So I generally prefer Maximus. But I DO like the silky texture of Liquid Silk. =)

Backseat Boohoo, does Maximus taste better? I've heard that it is also quite bitter.

Maximus isn't very bitter - there's a hint of bitterness in there, but more of a sweet flavor overall.

It has a very slight flavor to it. Like Scott A said, it's not really bitter, but it doesn't exactly please your taste buds, either. Still, I find the taste of Maximus negligible, whereas I hate getting Liquid Silk in my mouth.

Maximus isn't something I would nosh on...but the taste doesn't bother me. Most other lubes, including lubes on condoms; I find rather unpleasant. Maximus is also so easy to dispense with the plunger top so you don't "over lube".

Liquid Silk is a hybrid, and hybrids just don't mesh with me. It's supposed to be the best of both worlds but it ends up being the worst. It can't be used with silicone toys, and when I'm not using a silicone toy, a pure silicone lube is miles ahead of Liquid Silk in every department.

If I had to choose, I'd go with Maximus, but both Maximus and Liquid Silk are rife with parabens and have way too many ingredients in my opinion.
