And rule of thumb, even with proper cleaning and condom use, don't keep a jelly toy for more than 2 years
did you know that the phrase "rule of thumb" came from when men were allowed to beat their wives legally and the "rule of thumb" was to help them select the size of tree limb to spank them with.
I keep toy cleaning wipes next to the bed, and then when we are done, we like foaming antibacterial soap. Generally unscented is better just in case you have sensitive bits!
There is just no way to clean jelly toys adequately enough for me to be comfortable using them. They are too porous and there is no way to properly sanitize them. My solution was to wrap them in a plastic bag and then send them to our local landfill.

six months if you're me! i had one that started disintegrating and off-gassing and turning colors so bad. even with a condom it burned my vagina. YUCK.
best jelly dildo care: throw it in the garbage and go shopping for silicone.

I hate to jump on the jelly-bashing-bandwago n, but this is so true. Just because they sell it doesn't mean it's safe to put in your body. Save up a little longer and get a silicone toy that will last for YEARS instead of needing to replace your jelly toys every couple of months. Better for you and more economical to boot.

I had heard the time frame is more like 1 year?
Supposedly, some jelly toys are well-made enough that they can be kept for 2 years, but in most cases it's best not to keep them longer than 6 months to 1 year.
