On the hunt for a moisturizing body wash....

Contributor: lalapetitee lalapetitee
I have been trying several body washes lately and I just haven't found anything that works. I have seriously dry and cracked skin and winter isn't helping. I have tossed out my Nivea and Aveeno. I have tested a sample of a few Philosophy ones and those didn't work either. I have been looking around the site but there is way too much to choose from and I can't decide.

Which are you favorites for moisturizing as well as doing a great job at cleansing? I would love something that has a matching lotion.

I have been looking at the cake beauty line but I'm not sure which item I should purchase first.

Lush has some body washes that have been very moisturizing for me and they have nice lotions too. They also have some bath treatments that are really moisturizing as well (way more than the aveeno oatmeal bath stuff).

I've also been really impressed with some of the St. Ives products. The have an oatmeal shea cleanser moisturizing wash that might work well. Or one of their triple butter washes?

My favorite new brand is probably C. Booth. Really affordable but high quality products in my opinion, though I've only tried a few things. The Shea Cream Bath or Milk Cleanser might work well for you.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to find a matching lotion, but it might be good to find what type of products and what ingredients work best for you. Shea and Cocoa Butter especially work well for me, but I know for some people that type of ingredient makes their skin greasy. If you've had little luck with moisturizers, you might also want to try dry oils if you haven't already.

I haven't given St. Ives a try yet. Putting them on the list and shea does wonders on me but I find some products don't contain enough for it to count. I'm gonna try to find the C. Boothe products. I'm not close to a Lush tho :-( thanks so much for the help!

I only buy handmade bath products and the most moisturizing I have found is pure olive oil or pure goats milk soaps.

Ivory Simply Aloe works great for me, I have eczema, and you can get many different kinds of Aloe Lotions.

Also not sure how much you are willing to spend but Cetaphil is the Dr recommended one for me. It is available all over the place, but I think that $9 for 16oz is ridiculous. It does work really well, I have some samples I had to use on my sons, since they have the same issue. They have Lotions, Body wash, and Cleanser's.

I mix shea and olive oil together for my hair. Gonna try it on my skin but I'm hoping it won't be too greasy. Thanks gonna look into those soaps.

My grandma always used that Ivory stuff on us when I was younger. I don't know why I stopped using it. Gonnna give it a try again. I have Cetaphil but it doesn't last long on me.

Thanks!

I have very dry skin, especially during the winter. I use Eucerin calming body wash daily shower oil. It doesn't contain soap which is what strips your skin of oils. It also doesn't have fragrance so that may influence if you want to try it.

olay with shea butter is lovely and silky.

but my go to, is bath and body works. tons of scents to choose from, but no matter which one, they are so moisturizing! my skin feels absolutely wonderful since i've started.
