What's the deal with this?

OK I have been noticing that some things are "not available for purchase,", but they are not listed as out of stock or discontinued. They have reviews on them, so they must have been available at some point. Can anyone tell me what the deal is?

I'm not sure what is going on, but the one kama sutra bath salts that I wanted to order shows like this as well, and if I search for the product it WILL let me add it to my cart, but I don't know if that's a glitch and if it's even really in stock.

I know this was the case when I reviewed assignments from the administrator. Like I reviewed a couple of things before they were available for purchase and sometimes it takes a little bit before they make them available to everyone. It seems like new stuff is "tested" in a way before they get it in stock for purchase by the whole site.

This is true. Also, this has been discussed many times on the forums so it doesn't hurt to search before posting.

I was sent an assignment by the administrator and the link to the product said Not available for purchase, it was almost 3 weeks after I wrote the review that the product was in stock and my review was posted.

I've seen that before on some products I've searched!

I've got your answer. There are a few reasons for this.

1. They are thinking of carrying the product, but it has not been released yet. The lure helps them figure out what the interest is.

2. They are thinking of carrying the product and have some. They have a few reviews review the items to see how good they are. This is used for descriptive reviews most often, but sometimes manufactured reviews too

In my experience, about a third of the items get carried pretty quickly.

Sometimes they can't publish the reviews yet. For example I wasn't allowed to submit my review on the Cobre Libre until a certain time when it was being released.

Thing is with the one I was talking about the item had been carried, I've seen it available many times and just hadn't yet purchased it. So, it wasn't something that was being thought about carrying..it was something that was available and then now is not. I'm fairly sure (but not positive) that the Shunga set was the same way.

Yes this is what I am talking about. I will have to find one of the items I was looking at, I believe it was actually one of the Kama Sutra sensual kits I had my eye on. It had plenty of reviews, but it was "out of stock" and not said to be discontinued. The newer stuff I can see why that would be, but I don't get it with the stuff that has seemingly been here a while. Maybe they aren't selling enough and decided to cut back on it for a while? But then again, if they weren't selling enough you would think they would want more people to buy it. I don't know. I just know this has happened with quite a few things that caught my eye

I agree. If you go into 'product search', you'll see a lot of the products that are up for sponsorship aren't available yet. That's why they get reviews on them first
