Pumps are for people who have trouble gaining an erection or combined with a cock ring to get bigger and hold it. They aren't really for masturbation as using them for often and for long periods of time can have bad results.

Some people will love pumps others will feel weird about them. For me I'd feel a bit confused about that gift, there's a lot of other cool couples toys out there on EF.
