Is it possible that vibrators/toys are made from the same place and just distributed through different companies?

This has been on my mind constantly. I was recently given a Pure Romance catalogue. I begrudgingly looked through it and noticed that they had toys that look EXACTLY like Lelo, Jopen, Fun Factory, etc. They're just uncanny. So, I'm wondering if toys can be made from one company only to be sold to many companies, or are these low-brow companies products just complete knock-offs.

And, here's Jopen's: link

It may be similar to what happens with a lot of replica things sold on the black market (We've all heard of the $30 Rolexes in China Town.) Once a company finishes a production run, sometimes the factory will keep the molds and materials and make a few runs of their own. While it's usually much lower quality (as they don't have to be inspected by the high end company) they also are much cheaper... But like the $30 Rolex, you'd be lucky if it's still working a month later.

I don't know if this is for sure what happens, but that's how I heard most knock offs come about. They also could have just bought a Jopen, cast it, and made replicas that way.

that's part of the problem with outsourcing your manufacturing.

Do bears shit in the woods?

:-P

Yeah, it's very possible. ANything that is outsourced is also counterfeited.

Some companies even sell their stuff under a different company name at different price points.

I noticed that too. The $20 g spot vibrator with a butterfly clitoral attachment on pure romance is exactly the same as one I found on here while browsing g spot vibes. I know brand name companies sell to different stores (like California exotics to here and fascinations) so I guess both?
