Anxiety, stress, etcetera can cause wilting in the male. It can also happen if the guy isn't in good shape.

Alcohol and drugs also reduce a guy's ability to stay hard. It happens to all guys or at least I've seen it happen on occasion to guys who normally had no problem staying hard. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you or that there's anything you did.

Could be any number of things. Staying hard isn't as simple as simply being turned on. As scottA said, stress, anxiety, pressure to perform, etc. can all have an effect. For some guys, it can become a mind game.

I've had that happen to a guy I was with once. I felt terrible about myself for a few seconds, because I thought it was ME he wasn't attracted to. But like mentioned before, stress and anxiety are two huge things that can make a guy go soft. Don't worry, it's very unlikely that it's you.

It is easier to explain physics than explain 'wood.' Looks aren't everything and sex for a guy can be as much mental as it is physical. In a really long session, some guys may get hard and soften up some and then hard again a few times. Sometimes the same sensation for a long period desensitizes his rod and you may want to change things up. Other times, it could be stress, nervousness, or a whole host of factors.
Another thing is that the bigger it is, the easier it is to fall. From what I've seen, average to smaller tools stay rock hard much better than the big ones. Also, when your sex sessions involve some gymnastics and wild positions…if he is getting a real cardio workout, that means less blood is heading to his love muscle.

It's true, it's sometimes not about being into it, it can happen solo too. It's kind of fucked up.
It used to happen to me because of a med I was taking. And it happens in the morning sometimes. Morning sessions make me lose excitement halfway. But an hour after waking up is all good. *shrug*
