Help - Shaving Misery

I do have some very wise advice! 1ST: DO NOT use Solei razors! I tried those since they were cheaper than my favorite men's schick. It's silver and blue and can be bought for 7 dollars at the dollar store. It comes with an extra blade (yes, I just bought another one 2 days ago!) See, I decided I'd try the cheaper disposable razors which honestly do cause more irritation even to me, someone who's NOT sensitive and shaves every single day. The ENTIRE thing and I have been doing so for about 7 years! Anyways, I had so many gashes and I mean GASHES from those damn solei razors. NOT all disposables are this bad though. I had a very bad cut on my leg it was actually an injury! I also cut a nice big fluffy chunk of cooter out 2 times! I'm totally used to shaving so it never bothers me, but these solei razors felt as if they were chewing my skin. I thought it was just me until I asked others and found out my sisters both had serious problems with the same razors.

Anyways, I'd strongly recommend the Schick. It's men's and I don't know the exact name, but it's a metal little guy and has a pretty blue strip that's grippable. You'll know it when you see it. I was a venus lover for yrs and this schick is the only one I've found that outdoes the venus. The blade works well for at least 6 months (shaving daily!) maybe a little less than 6 months if u use oils because it clogs razors and can cause it to pretty much tug and pull the hair out rather than shave it off.

I had an electrolysis machine and used it for months and had NO results, but a serious waste of time and money. I probably wasted 100 hours on that stupid crap. Now, I'm waiting for my Permanant hair removal LOTION to come in. It's not too pricey and it's by NISIM which is a wonderful, reputable company. Using the permanant hair inhibitor lotion or the spray from NISIM after waxing or plucking or threading (anything that pulls the entire hair, bulb and all from the folicle) will result in a 10-15% removal EACH SESSION. Now, if you shave or use a type of depillatory that does not remove the entire hair, shaft, and bulb then you will not get permanant results, but the hair will dramatically decrease in growth, it will take a long time for it to come back (depending on how regular you use the inhibitor) I'm really excited to use it and I'm praying so hard that this is the answer!

Shaving, waxing, plucking daily is painful. I admit it, but I've grown pretty tolerant to it. Still, I want NO hair. So, I'm hoping that's just what I'll get with the NISIM. It's not too pricey (around $30-50) depending on where you buy and whether you get the spray or the lotion.

Hope some of this was helpful. I will say, please do not waste your money on an at-home electrolysis machine. ESPCECIALL VERSEO!

Yeah, I don't trust at-home electrolysis. I'd only trust a professional to do it, considering they have to zap the follicle at the exact right angle and stuff. I'll save my money and go see a certified professional to get my electrolysis done (probably will be a while until I can do that anyway)

I think I have the same razor you're talking about. I agree, it's awesome. I'm using the Schick one for pubic hair and my Venus for legs. One advantage I've noticed of having the Schick is the head; it's so small compared to my Venus head! That helps with the tight bits in the pubic area.

Unfortunately, this. I get a lot LESS irritation but that's due to quality products. My skin is still sensitive in some areas and bumps are a way of life.

Are you allergic to cream depilatories or do you not like them. I get irritated when I shave as well. I use a cream depilatory, lie flat on my back with a handheld mirror so I can see what I'm doing and use a rubber glove to apply it. It helps to have a few cold wet face towels nearby if you get it somewhere you don't want it.

PS - patch tests and sensitive skin formulas are your friend

I actually use an electric razor for this, but the first few times I was RAW from doing it. I got into a rhythm of trimming, tidying up the sides, waiting a few days and then shaving. My electric razor also has this additional piece for doing a bikini type trim, so the hairs don't get caught as much.
