With applicator.

When I do use a tampon, I prefer them with an applicator. With that being said, I wouldn't refuse to use one if it were necessary. I find that I can't insert it nearly well enough or far enough for it to sit comfortably.

I use them with plastic applicators only. I tried using without and cardboard applicators and both times ended badly. I just could not relax enough for the applicatorless one, and the cardboard one just kept getting squished. Bleh!

Do you know what is making insertion and removal difficult? I'd be glad to help if I possibly can.

When I was able to use tampons I always used ones with a plastic applicator and would add lube to them before insertion. I've tried with and without applicators. Tampons without applicators actually tear me open because of the rough cotton which causes me to not be able to insert the tampon properly. That and getting blood all over my fingers is extremely unpleasant.

I always used tampons with applicators, but now I use a menstral cup, and I'm happy about not having any waste.

I only use the ones w/o applicators. I like OB tampons. I am very comfortable with my anatomy so I was determined to make it past the muscle where I couldn't feel it. After a few tries, I got it right and I haven't bought applicator tampons since. I like the discreetness of an OB over applicator tampons. The soft-cups are kind of expensive compared to tampons on my heavy days so I only use them on my light days.

I typically use the one's without an applicator. Recently I've branched out to the new kotex ones with applicators that extend from a compacted position. I had a coupon and they're really nice. I don't know how I feel about the extra waste from the applicators though.

Personally, I love PLaytex Sport. I really can't stand Tampax Pearl, because it never seems to go in as comfortably as others do. I've never actually used a tampon without an applicator before.

Exactly what I was going to say. Every bit of it. Lol.

I have never been able to get the tampon in far enough just using my finger so I prefer tampons with applicators. Also, it makes it kind of embarrassing to wash your hands in public restrooms when you walk out of the stall with blood on your finger/s lol.

I only use ones with applicators. I don't exactly like getting all bloody as I put it in, I used the OB brand once, which has no applicator, and... never again. Ewww

When I used tampons I used an applicator, I tried the ones without and they didn't really work for me. Menstrual cup all the way!

When I had a period a few years ago, I could never use tampons, they were so effing uncomfortable. I had to go with pads.

I prefer with an applicator, because tampons without an applicator are messier to use.

I prefer the tampons without an applicator (O.B). I don't know what it is but I can't get tampons in comfortably with an applicator, I've tried everything and they are just too uncomfortable.

Usually if it's early or later in my period I'm a bit dry so I'll put a dab of water based lube over the outside of the tampon and that makes insertion and removal much easier.

Pearl is the best. It glides!

When I used tampons I originally used ones with an applicator until I realized how harmful that is to the environment then I switched to no applicator. Now I use a menstrual cup, so no more tampons for me.

I am a Canadian living in China. And I will use whatever I can get my hands on. ONLY.

I cannot afford to be picky. I use whatever I can find in the stores (usually non-applicator) but family and friends sometimes send me tampons with and without applicators.

If I had the choice on the other hand, I'd pick non applicator only. Here in China though, each box of tampons come with finger condoms for insertion.
