I used to have to take laxitives like once a week. Then I would cram for a day. I changed my eating habits and take in way more fiber then I used to. I do still have to take some type of laxative like once a month but I am also on a lot of perscribed medicine that tends to make me irregular.

I don't have any issues, and do not have to take anything.

As of yet, it's undiagnosed, but since many members of my family have IBS it's likely that my own issues are caused by it, too. I alternate between mild constipation and mild to severe diarrhea, with some normalcy in-between, as well as near-constant nausea, the severity of which varies from day to day. At one point I went an entire month feeling like I was moments away from vomiting, and for a long time I was relying on immodium to get me through my work day and double doses of pepto to let me feel well enough to sleep.

My doctor put me on omeprazole and probiotics for now, and that's actually helping more than I thought it would. I'm also trying to be more careful about not eating until I'm super-full, since that certainly couldn't have been doing me any good. I've been better the last few months, so here's to hoping it continues. *crosses fingers*

I don't have too many problems overall. If I notice that things are getting "backed up," I will simply consume more vegetables.

I actually don't have any problems in this area. I find that I'm more likely to actually get constipated and such if I drink less tea than usual (I drink 4-5 cups of hot tea a day usually)... But for the most part, I don't have any issues there.

I am 95% caffeine dependent in the bathroom department and have been since I was a teenager. I'm convinced more people drink coffee for this reason than to give them energy.

I'm lucky if I can go 2-3 times a week. I eat right. I eat lots of fiber and vegetables, too! I've tried the yogurts and things like that, but I just can't stick to it. A nice stong cup of coffee will help me out when I don't feel like taking laxitives.

My mother and sister have IBS.

I eat lots of fiber, so that really helps, but even then I don't go every day. :/

I'm strict vegetarian, I only eat plants (no dairy, no eggs, no meat, etc.), and almost exclusively whole grains, so I get a LOT of fiber. I do not take any fiber supplements, or eat cultured soy yogurt or anything like that. I don't need to. I go usually two or three times a day, and it's super easy, no problems what-so-ever.

The only time I ever get mild constipation is during my period, and I still usually go every day.

Before I went vegan, I did have some mild diarrhea and constipation every couple weeks, and I only went once a day. I was vegetarian at the time and did have a lot of dairy and cheese. I've been vegetarian since I was a teen so I don't remember before that.

I hate IBS. I had it pretty badly from the time I was about 11 until my neurologist started treating my migraines properly. Oddly enough, the mix of a good antidepressant and pain meds has evened me out, and I don't have the problems I used to have. I used to live on Bentyl and Immodium. Now that I think about it, it started to get better after I had endometriosis surgery, too.

I remember taking this horrible stuff for high cholesterol, called Questran. (Even though my cholesterol is low.) It bound bile salts and helped the IBS, but it also prevented other medications from being absorbed, so when my migraines got really bad and I had to take more meds, I had to go off it. It was horrible stuff you mixed with juice. My Man said it looked like I was eating orange mud!

Weird, how our body systems are all connected.

In the past six months my bowels have been really sensitive to any sort of fiber. And I get really really bad runs. Which completely sucks because they come at a moments notice and make me feel like I want to puke. Sometimes when this is happening I will go to the bathroom four times a day. Normally I go like twice a day. But I very rarely get constipated, usually only on my period

There are weeks that I have to go every day then there are weeks that I have to only go once. Its a result of my diet. I could take medication to regulate it but I am on enough medicine, I prefer not to take anything else unless it is absolutely necessary.

I used to have absolutely no issues with any of that stuff, until I had RNYGB (gastric bypass). Now if I don't take all my medication, including my softners, I will have awful constipation, but that's because I eat very little fiber and a whole lot of dairy and protein. On the opposite end, if I'm not very careful to limit my sugar intake, I'll end up on the SEVERE opposite side of the spectrum. Fortunately, I'm a very healthy eater, so I have only had a problem with that one time EVER since surgery, but alas.

I have IBS so I get either constipation or diarrhea. To combat this I have drastically altered my diet and I take FiberCon, a fiber supplement meant to improve regularity. I also exercise daily, as recommended by my doctor.

I onetime I stayed with a girl who talked about her pooping habits regularly.

She would announce when she had to poop, when the last time was, how big it was once she'd gone..

It really made me pay a lot more attention..and be weirded out
