I like both, but I prefer oils so I don't have to wait for a candle to melt. But I do like the warmth of massage candles, I just have to remember to plan ahead to use them, so they don't get used as much.

i do use both of them, but most of my lovers would rather me use oils. but when i use candles, it's real wax play and is something totally different than a massage candle.

Oils are more convenient and you can still heat them up.

I like the romantic aspect of the candle. We light it in our room and go in the hot tub for 20 minutes, and then the wax has melted and is ready. Love that!!

The candles are fun and nice, but I'm more fond of the oils. I have used a ton of the massage products and my favorite is Shunga. The one you listed by Shunga is outstanding! I like the Aphrodisiac oil too though.

I agree there's something romantic about using the candle as you let the warm light make your surroundings glow for awhile and then, boom the oils ready and warm.

I usually prefer candles for the beautiful light and warmth. Some of them can be a bit gummy, though, like the Pheromone Soy Massage Candle. I don't have anything against oils, but I would stay away from System JO. I reviewed their Lavender Massage Oil and it was terrible.

The massage candle I used was oil-based, so it's kind of moot.

I prefer true blue massage oils, because massage is more than just the oil. Herbs and aromas play a huge part in the process, and herbal infused oils are easy to find at a good price.

I like the Kama Sutra line of oils, especially the mint-scented ones. Relaxing aromas + relaxing massage = Total ecstasy.

I thinks that depends on situation. Sometimes I just want the massage and don't want to wait for the candle to melt (though it doesn't take long) - then I use the oil. Sometimes I like to create the romantic atmosphere with gentle light, nice smell all over the room and romantic mood - the candle is perfect for in that case. That is why I have both and use them depending on my mood.

This exactly. We usually use the liquid oils so we don't have to wait.

Candles are romantic, but I find that I enjoy massage oils more. I haven't tried any of the specific candle products you have listed, but of the oils that you listed, I find that the one I have been using over and over and buying again and again is the don't stop massage oil. Pet is allergic to almost everything and she doesn't have reactions to that. It also has a pleasant warming sensation due to the herbal content of it promoting blood flow. It gives a great massage.

I chose oil simply because I haven't had any experience with a wax massage. For now I simply love hot oil massages & can't think of it getting any better than that.

We love the candles a lot. The only drawback is waiting for the oil/wax to melt, which in a good candle, can take 30 to 45 minutes, so you have to plan.

Our favorite is the JimmyJane massage candles. The scents are lovely and the texture is really nice.

I prefer oils because there is little to no prep needed. Candles are great for mood lighting but the cheap store bought ones do just as good for that. If I want a hot massage I still use oils because I have better control over the tempature of it.

I like both, but they're different. Different times call for different juice.

This is a hard choice for me! I love the fact that a good quality massage candle oil is already warm and ready to go but most candle oils just don't go the distance or melt evenly. A good quality liquid massage oil should warm easily in the palms and spread evenly providing a great surface for massage. You can warm them to the same temp as candle oil by placing in warm water so I dunno....I like them BOTH!
Bwaaaa can't choose....
~gonna wander off mumbling to myself now....

I really like the Shunga candle that I have. It was good way to start a conversation about more serious wax play, which was the goal.

Apple is a revitalizing fragrance, so it would be really great for massages. The Shunga oil that I used was the Fruit formula and I liked it well enough, it's just not something we do very often so I sent it to a friend.

Given the choices listed above, I'd say the Shunga Candle. It was nice.

However, Kama Sutra oils are the best I've used so far. Anything with super high votes, however, I'll have to add to my wishlist...

The Sensuous Massage oils by Kama Sutra are amazing. I'd suggest trying the sample pack. It comes with different scents so you can figure out which you prefer before purchasing a full sized oil. They work really well too.

I don't really care for any of the above, of those I've tried. We prefer the JimmyJane massage candles and Hathor Exotic Love Oil the best.

I am not voting on this one because my preference isn't listed. I use the kama sutra oils. As far as candles go, I use regular ones for mood lighting.
