Yes, I think she meant the story Riverboat Queen, by that author. I am not usually into gay erotica either, but it was introduced in an original way and the story was emotional as well. I almost cried.

I think I'm going to attempt it. I've honestly been waiting for a kink-book open submission post before I write something. Everything right now seems to be women's erotica related at the moment.

I agree, it was very real. And very sad that his friend had died.

I haven't read it, just on the shelf as I purused the titles. I generally see a lot of stars on Joey's work. I should really read at least one to see if I like her. I tend to be a very obsessive-compulsive buyer *blush*

If you've got it written then when the kink opens back up you have it to submit!

You know what's interesting? When I put out my call for subs for Fairy Tale Lust, I received over 160 stories... and there were only 3 or 4 classic fairy tales that were duplicated (as in, I received two stories based on Beauty and the Beast, two on The Little Mermaid, etc.). Though Grimm's might be the best known fairy tales, every country and culture has their own fairy tales, fables, legends, etc. And even those Grimm Brothers tales inspire a variety of interpretations.

I also asked for original tales that played homage to the classics, which helped bring a level of uniqueness to the collection.

Oh, and those two Beauty and the Beast stories? Completely different. I ended up including Delilah Devlin's "The Obedient Wife," which is the kinkiest Beauty and the Beast story you will ever read! (Delilah also just signed on to edit a collection of lesbian vampire erotica for Cleis!)

You know what would be really cool? An erotic version of "Taming of the Shrew". I love that story! Or possibly a collection of Shakespeare erotica.

There's just something about it, isn't there? The longing was so relatable and I know that if I was in the one character's shoes, I'd remain in the situation just to be the one he only went back to, because that was probably the closest thing to love he was capable of.

I once had a very hot dream where I was a guy and having sex with a woman. The feeling of penetration was intense. Freud would've loved interpreting that!

Yeah...see I can read it all but I still don't get into M/M. That and the real extremes of fetishes and/or very extreme BDSM...those are the ones that I have to stop in the middle or if I read them...I still kind of can't get any enjoyment out of...but that is me...to each their own!

Thanks for clarifying but I understood...just think it is nonsense and bad business that they disallow erotica from the reading lists.

Oh I love that story and it would be so cool as an erotica story, with a hint of BDSM. *wink, wink*
I have seen the movie with Elizabeth Taylor a few years ago, and I was totally in awe of this woman and her eyes. Such a strong character on the screen, it was amazing.

Indies are funny - -totes depends on individual buyer or owner. Some are like Steve Jobs and others go deep into erotica. Shakespeare and Company in NYC currently has a front table loaded with erotica and lots of lovely Cleis titles- yay!

Oh, you really need to get Rachel Kramer Bussel's She's On Top. My story "The Mistress Meets Her Match" is from the dominant female point of view. (I believe all of the stories are from the dom female POV, but I'd have to check.)

Oh you are so lucky!!! I'd love to get a dream like that to get an idea of what it feels.

Maybe if I read more first person male perspective stories, I could get one too.

Perhaps TMI, but while we are on the subject: there really isn't a feeling that comes close to pegging. The vantage point, the power, the pressure... it really starts to make sense why men tend to be aggressive and visual.
