Stairway to pleasure game - love game by Pipedream - review by Kitty

This was a fun game. I‘ve never bought or played a love game before. It’s a type of foreplay; very light-hearted and silly at times, but sensual too. Stairway to Pleasure is a board game played with two players (a pink and a blue player piece), a die to roll to see how many spaces to move forward, and two stacks of cards to draw from if you land on certain spaces. The game plays through quickly, in about a half an hour, which is good. It’s short enough that it doesn’t get tedious; and it’s long enough that it makes you wait just a little longer than you would normally with all that foreplay, which is probably the greatest success of the game. By the time you get to the end of the game both partners are good and riled up, and ready for a passionate encounter.

The two stacks of cards are “Truth or Dare” and “This Could Be Embarrassing.” The “Truth or Dare” cards are pretty basic information. The types of questions they ask, for example, “Have you ever thought about anal sex?” are really more appropriate for new lovers. Experienced couples who have spent a lot of time together, who have been sexually adventurous together and fanaticized together have probably covered a lot of these. We were trying out the game for the first time, so we stuck to “Truth” and weren’t that impressed. But when we play it through again, we’ll probably lean towards “Dare” and let our own imaginations make the game a little more thrilling; probably with the blindfold and candle that came with the game!

The “This Could Be Embarrassing” cards are fun scenes to act out: half just sexy scenes, and half charades, to act out and have your partner guess what you’re doing. Some of these really are embarrassing, but in a fun way. I don’t want to give examples, because I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but I will say that this is the part of the game that’s a lot of fun for partners who have been together a long time, who know each other well, and who aren’t afraid to let their guard down and be silly together. Again, almost all of the cards are sexy in one way or another.

The spaces on the board that don’t direct to the cards have little quick games and interactions. They start off simple, and by the end of the game, both players are probably naked (it’s a good idea to start off clothed). The player who wins the game gets a special wish. Before the game starts, both players fill out a wish card, with suggested sexy wishes or a space to make up your own. Once the game is underway and you’re aroused, you really want to win so you can get your fantasy! I lost, and had a great time wish-granting. I’ll win next time though!
