The sweetest blackberries still have thorns.

The Blackberry is a toy which seems to place form well ahead of function. It can be enjoyable as a novelty, but it doesn't deliver on sensations.

The Blackberry is one of two vibrating butt plugs made by Rocks Off in their Ass-Berries line, and slightly larger than its pink cousin, the Raspberry.

For something which is intended to be inserted anally, the Blackberry has a surprisingly cute and attractive design. The surface of the plug is quite detailed and covered in lots of nodules, which help to mimic the appearance of a wild berry growing on a bush somewhere.

The plug is manufactured from a medical grade material known as Intramed. It’s a nice body-safe material which is completely odourless and non-porous. It feels about as firm as the silicone which Rocks Off use in their products, and doesn’t have a great deal of give in the surface or flexibility to it. The surface of the material is matte, and very slightly textured, which helps lube to adhere to it well.

The construction of the plug is generally of a high standard. There is one discreet mould line running around the length of it, but it’s not raised enough to be felt, and mostly becomes hidden amongst the details of the design.

The plug has a diameter of 1 1/2”, but for something of this size the plug is noticeably quite short and stubby in length. Unlike a traditional conical butt plug, the tip of the Blackberry lacks any real taper, and instead is quite blunt and rounded. If you have plenty of experience with butt plugs of this size, then inserting it shouldn’t be a problem, but if not you’d be advised to warm up with another toy first, as otherwise you’re liable to encounter resistance when trying to insert it.

The insertable portion of the plug is only 2 1/4" long, and directly connected to this is the base, meaning that the plug has no real neck to speak of. The problem with the lack of an adequate neck is that a good portion of the base starts to be pulled into the body as soon as the muscles slide over the widest part of the plug. At its widest point, the base is actually marginally narrower than the insertable portion of the plug, which means that it does run the risk of the whole thing being accidentally inserted if you push too hard. From a safety perspective, this isn’t great and does mean that you need to exercise caution when using it. The other disadvantage of this is that there isn’t a lot of the plug left protruding from the body for when you’re looking for something to grab onto to pull it out with.

The vibrating aspect of the plug is powered by the RO-80 bullet, which can be removed and used separately if desired. The bullet is held in place very tightly and can be difficult to extract without a lot of twisting, tugging, and wiggling, as the snug fit forms a vacuum inside. The entire toy is waterproof, so removing the bullet during routine washing isn’t a necessity. The vibrations produce a pleasant tingly feeling inside, but don’t travel too far due to the shape of the toy. Personally I would have preferred a stronger sensation, and it feels as though a fair amount of the vibrations from the bullet are absorbed and dampened by the surrounding IntraMed. Whilst wearing the plug the bullet can be a little difficult to operate, mainly because of how firmly the button needed to be pressed to switch it on and off. You’re limited in the positions and situations that you can use the plug in, as unfortunately part of the bullet does protrude from the base of the plug, preventing you from be able to sit down whilst wearing it, and the bullet does produce a level of noise which could be heard in a quiet room, just in case you were considering wearing it in public. As the bullet is a standard size it can be replaced with something stronger if desired, such as the We-Vibe Salsa.

The plug is generally quite pleasant to use, but isn’t that special. Insertion is made less comfortable by the textured surface and the shape, which combine to cause drag on the way in, even with plenty of lube. When the plug is inside it doesn’t feel very filling due to the short length, and it doesn’t reach up enough to put any pressure on the prostate. The vibrations are also quite lacklustre. Thankfully the shape does make it gentle to remove once you’re done. Overall it seems like a product where aesthetic considerations came before practical ones.

The Blackberry comes packaged inside a sturdy clear plastic box, which makes it a convenient place to store your toy when not in use, safely away from unwanted dust.
Follow-up commentary
I've owned this toy for 9 months, and I simply don't use it any more, in fact I can't even remember the last time I got it out.

It's not that it's a bad product; it's just that it's only an O.K. product. It doesn't possess any attributes that motivate me to play with it.

The vibrations are quite poor, so if I want to feel something that vibrates then I pass it over. Once you eliminate the vibrations from consideration, then I have non-vibrating plugs which are made from a superior material, and which I find much more comfortable and enjoyable to use.

The only thing I still do like about it is the appearance, you have to give credit for that, but at the end of the day nobody buys a butt plug just to look at it.

This is a much better review! Again I think extended template would help you out as well as having a mentor. Bold fonts, catchy sentence structures and more in depth and candid speech add to the readers understanding of a product and interest in your writing.

Thanks for the reviewing and I am impressed that this review was your first : )

(my first before having mentors were no where as good)
