These handcuffs are perfect for less experienced users, like me. They feel nice and heavy – but not too heavy – and the cold metal against my wrists made my fantasy of being cuffed and teased very authentic, almost like being cuffed for real, except these cuffs aren’t nearly as heavy as police-grade cuffs (also not as menacing).

My first experience with handcuffs was a bad one; my girlfriend and I bought a cheap little fuzzy pair, nailed them to the wall and began our play. However, when things got really heated, I jerked my hands and the cuffs broke. Nothing of the sort happened with these cuffs; I yanked and pulled my hands apart, but they are definitely far from flimsy.

The sleek black color of these handcuffs make them look so sexy, and the keys are black too, easy to locate in the bottom of my bedside drawer. They come with two sets, one for each partner.

I talked to one person who used these and said he found it unsettling that they really locked. I showed him the little lever that allows the other partner to quickly release the cuffs, but he was still wary. If trust is a concern for you, you may want to settle for a fake pair.

The only thing I’d warn a new user about is to make sure your partner doesn’t cuff you so tight they cut off circulation. Or, if that’s your thing, really, make sure circulation isn’t cut off for too long, as metal can cause damage to the wrists. Personally, I like these cuffs because their shape made it easy to make them tight but not too tight – just tight enough for there to be a little red ring left around my wrist after, a nice reminder that I’d been chained to the bed only thirty minutes before.

I’ve used these handcuffs cuffed to something and just attached to my wrists; both ways are worth it. These cuffs have lasted much longer than that first ill-fated pair, and I would recommend them to people who want to switch things up every now and then; metal cuffs aren’t for the daily user, that’s for sure. At such a low price, though, there really isn’t much to lose if you’d like to be tied up with some cold, hard metal every once in a while.
