This collar and leash set is relatively heavy. We're not talking of a safety collar with velcro or breakaway snaps and a light plastic chain. This collar buckles securely like a belt, so use this item with care. Though I'm not personally one for clubs or parties, wearing this collar and leash definitely sets the scene as far as who was in control. Those new or a bit uncomfortable with bondage or dom/sub play would probably not enjoy this product. This is heavy enough that I would recommend this for somewhat more advanced users (I'm not talking experts here, but I wouldn't have been comfortable with this as my first collar, let's put it that way).

This is a well-designed product. I initially wanted something in leather (this is not, it's synthetic) but the red and black details are just so pretty, and the material next to the skin is soft enough that I don't feel I'm missing out on anything. Unlike a lot of synthetic "leather" products I've seen, this is actually quite supple. It moves like real leather--it even sounds a lot like leather when you tug it on. The chain is heavy steel, that's a bit loud. Personally I like the noise and I thought it helped to deepen the mood. The stitching looks and feels secure. All in all, I think it's well-made. This truly will fit just about anyone. It adjusts from about 15 inches around to about 19 inches.

I was in the market for a pretty collar and leash for dom/sub play and that's exactly what I've got. While I could put this on myself, it was a little easier (and more fun) for my husband to buckle it for me, a kind of symbolic surrender of control. The buckle stayed securely in place the entire time and though I've only used it a few times, it's not showing any wear and tear at all. My husband discovered that the leash handle makes a fun little paddle.
