Use

Bondage enthusiasts and beginners to being tied all have a reason to rejoice with this cute leather and vinyl bow. It is sturdy, impossible to escape (if you'd like it to be), and also very easy to adjust so that if you'd like it looser that is perfectly do-able too.

Unfortunately, because of the bulkiness of the materials, the lock can be a bit tricky to get on, and this really just is not a great tool for anyone into self bondage. While you could put it on your own ankles just fine, it is nearly impossible to get this on your own wrists without an extra set of hands.

I really like how versatile this bow set is. If you don't want to wear the bow part for whatever reason, you don't need to - and the "hand cuff" portion of this set is different than any other cuffs I've seen. I like it!

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

I really love the design of this one, but I'll admit I wasn't sure exactly how it worked until it arrived and I opened it up for myself. What you have here is a large, PVC bow, which sits right on top of a leather "hand cuff" and gets sandwiched between the cuff and the lock.

Using the key provided (and, joy of joys, it comes with a spare!), just unlock the small lock which is about an inch in width, and remove it from the loop. Just to mention, I have a really, really hard time with this. The bulk of the leather and PVC combined means that it takes me a couple of minutes to wriggle the lock free. My husband, however, can get it off without batting an eye. I think it depends mainly on your hand strength. Once you take the lock off, the rest is easy. There is then one long piece of leather with a D ring securely fastened to the middle of the strip. The two ends of the leather on either end of the strap then fold down over the top of the D-ring, and have a huge range of adjustability. They will fit from 4.5" in circumference all the way up to 10"! That is an amazing range, and I am confident it will fit a lot of different bodies.

The PVC bow is made of very thick, very sturdy PVC, and I don't doubt it will last just as long as the leather cuff it adorns. The leather is of high quality, and while it is soft it is still amazingly sturdy. It does have a leathery smell, but you won't be able to tell unless you're holding it right beneath your nose, it is not overwhealming.

Performance

In use, these are a bit less comfortable than they look. Because they are not circular like handcuffs, but a bit more square with wrists or ankles in them, they do dig into your skin somewhat. If I wear them for a long time, I find that it will cut my skin. To combat this, I have found that wearing this slightly looser (think one hole larger or maybe even two) will protect your skin while keeping you contained. If you're a "struggler" it probably will not matter how loose you make these, they aren't really contoured to be ergonomic, and the leather will get you. We're a very protocol based couple, and I don't tend to try to wiggle out of my bonds. If you do - watch our for broken skin.

If you're not in the mood, or simply don't want to deal with the PVC bow for a given session, you needn't attach it. One of the great little things about this set is its versatility. I love being able to choose if tonight is a bow night or not.

Care and Maintenance

The PVC bow can be wiped down with soap and water, but I wouldn't submerge it because I'm unsure of the material it is mounted to. You can just take a damp sponge and wipe this one down. Bear in mind that PVC is porous, so if you get any bodily fluids on it, it is best not to share this.

The leather handcuff portion of the set is best to not get wet. If you must get it wet, use only a barely damp towel to clean it. You can use a leather cleaner if you desire. Leather, like PVC, is porous so be sure to not share the handcuff portion of the restraint if you get bodily fluids on it either.

The entire thing doesn't take up too much room, so we just store it the drawer with our other leather restraints. We have a special loop we keep all handcuff keys on, and I've also seen many people keep handcuff keys on their regular key chain. You'll get two keys so it is up to you what you do with them.

Packaging

The restraint came loose in the box. It didn't have any wrapper, but did have a little tag clipped to it with the company name. The keys were tied to the bow on the front of the restraint with the use of a little red leather string.

Follow-up commentary
We still use this bow a lot, and it works wonderfully and with very little issue. We do use it with the bow more often than alone, my husband and me love the look of the shiny bow. The leather is in perfect shape, with no defect to the material, even after our rough play. :)
