A good first experience with some minor design flaws.

I highly suggest this product to any anal beginner. The size and appearance are not intimidating while the malleable material is comfortable and safe. Buddy can be sterilized then shared with a partner and used in the shower/tub, during intercourse or masturbation. Although this toy is very versatile and body safe, I have had issues with it product slipping out. Three stars because although this is quality product, the problems with slipping greatly decreased the versatility of this product.

Use

This is a great introduction to anal play for any gender. The smooth shape and malleable material make insertion effortless and both the size and appearance are not intimidating. Although this is a good product, some design flaws cause the product to slip. This problem decreases the versatility and increases the amount of effort needed to keep it in. I would not suggest this product for extended wear or intercourse due to the amount of effort needed to keep the product in place. Aside from that, this is made of quality material which, after sterilized, can be shared with a partner.

Material / Texture

This is my first silicone toy and overall I am quite pleased. The package says this is "100 percent silicone rubber which can be washed with soap and water or sterilized in boiling water." Other products advertise "medical grade" silicone opposed to "silicone rubber" but I assume that the differences are minor especially if you keep the toy clean and store it properly. This is a firm but flexible toy which any beginner could appreciate. The firmness makes insertion easy but the flexibility ensures comfort and, if nothing else, peace of mind knowing it will bend in your body opposed to rigid materials such as glass.

Design / Shape / Size

I would venture to say that there are a few design flaws in this product. Other reviews mentioned they had difficulties with this plug not staying in but, being the stubborn person I am, decided it would be different for me. I was wrong but can't quite pinpoint one particular feature which creates this problem. The base is quite wide which allows the plug to stand upright for storage and, although the silicone is very flexible, it does not situate between the cheeks well. I tried this product in the shower, bed and extended wear but in each situation it slipped out which, in public, caused a minor panic. Concerning the overall shape contributing to this problem, either the shaft is too thick or the bulb is too thin, depending on what you are looking for, is for you to decide. Other than this dilema, the overall shape and size is a good place for most beginners. The gradual increase in size makes insertion smooth and the bend was comfortable. Insertion was painless but it was still filling.

Performance

Overall this was a good first experience with anal toys and I am likely to expand this collection however the problems with it falling out were off putting. Other than that, the toy had many positive qualities such as carrying vibrations, size, flexibility and appearance. Vibrations travel well through the silicone so after insertion, if someone prefers anal vibrations, it is easy to set a vibrator on the base and appreciate the extra stimulation. Also, this is a very small toy but, as a beginner, it was filling. Lastly, the material is squishy enough to stay comfortable for quite awhile. I am always eager and willing to use this toy.

Care and Maintenance

As advertised, this is 100% rubber silicone which can be boiled for 3 minutes or washed with soap and water. Some silicone toys can be sent through the dishwasher but the container does not boast that method so I would probably not try it. Also, it is delivered in a clear plastic tube for storage. This keeps lint from collection and allows the plug to stand upright. My only complaint about the storage is the container is quite large compared to the plug and takes up an unnecessary amount of space. The package suggests to store the plug upright to maintain the shape otherwise I would have wrapped it and put it in my regular toy drawer.

Buddy was delivered in a clear plastic tube with a brief introduction to the product use, material and general maintenance. I am very pleased this container is meant to store Buddy to prevent it from disfiguration or collecting lint particles.

Personal comments

Overall, I prefer to use Buddy during masturbation and keep pressure on this toy with a vibrator. This provides extra stimulation and prevents any slipping. The downside to this is I either have to sacrifice thrusting or clitoral stimulation to hold the toy in. The need for a hands-on approach makes wearing this in the shower or during intercourse difficult. Also, although this toy is very flexible and comfortable, it is difficult to wear while walking. To test extended wear I walked around with Buddy while doing laundry and was mortified when I felt it slipping while I was walking up the stairs carrying a basket full of clothing. This is a quality product which I will continue to use but the flaws have helped me learn what I will look for in future products.

Follow-up commentary
This really is a quality toy by a great company, but it just isn't for me. I've acquired two new anal toys since writing this review and consistently find myself avoiding this product. The hassle of trying to keep it in just doesn't have enough pay off.

The most embarrassing thing about the laundry experience is there was another girl in the stairwell and, if it had fallen, she would have seen the whole incident! I may have moved had that happened, or just taken on a new identity. This was a great introduction and has sparked an interest, but next time it will be something that won't fly out of my body in public or private. However I wish all anal toys came in clear glitter, I'm upset by how difficult finding interesting colors is.

@petname: Yeah, it was a bit disappointing. This toy is never used and I've considered boiling it and giving it to a close friend. I suppose if you are tragically in love with the glitter- like me- you could try thrusting with it, but it really doesn't have the body for that.

      I'd probably submit a support ticket about that one and ask them. Something might be labelled wrong.
