This toy is perfectly suited for anyone who wants to get started exploring anal penetration. As always with anal toys, a healthy layer of lube should be applied. A water-based lubricant like Maximus will do the trick. A dollop on your anus doesn't hurt either. Most of the feel-good parts of the anal canal are on the front of the body, so insert it with the bend pointing toward your belly button to start.

First timers may have a little difficulty "aiming" the narrow tip of the toy, but with a few tries, you should be able to slip it in with no problem at all. The first half of the toy feels nice, and sliding those couple inches in and out gives some light, but pleasant sensations. The second, more bulbous half lets you feel the sensation of being a bit fuller and stretched.

I'm going to have to disagree with the description of this item that states "Buddy is made to stay exactly where you put him." Perhaps with a thinner layer of lube this could be achieved, but for me, the narrow bottom of the toy does not hold it in for more than a few seconds before POP, out it comes. This makes this toy unsuitable for most hands-free applications.

I rather enjoy the Buddy slowly sliding in and out instead. I've found this can best be achieved sitting upright, so the floor or bed keeps the toy in. Some maneuvering with my hands can garner some prostate stimulation from the Buddy, but it doesn't especially lend itself to much. It could also be used during intercourse, but it would need to be held in, occasionally reinserted, or used in a position which doesn't allow it to come out (like doggy style).

The Buddy is made of very soft, 100% silicone. The toy is extremely flexible: the tip of the toy can easily be bent 180 degrees. This makes it very friendly for novice butt adventurers, but not particularly successful at prostate or g-spot stimulation. Comfort is number one with the Buddy, which can be a very good thing if you have a sensitive behind.

I adore the design of the Buddy. The two sections provide the gentlest possible introduction to the sensations associated with anal penetration. The slight curve also allows users to get some hint of what anal penetration can offer in the way of g-spot and prostate stimulation. I would have liked a somewhat greater difference between the bottom bulge and the bottom taper so that it stayed in more securely. However, I think the toy works well as something which can shift in and out.

The Buddy works fantastically as an introductory anal toy. Those more seasoned at anal play can still enjoy it for when they're only in the mood for a little something back there. It does not work well for a butt plug you pop in and leave in while you go about your business. It also does not press against the prostate or the g-spot very dramatically.

Having moved on to more stimulative anal toys, I don't use the Buddy much. So if I do, I tend to just give it a quick wipe and rinse before tossing it in a pot of boiling water for a couple minutes. Then I know it's sterilized for whenever I'm in the mood for the little fellow again. I don't know why anyone would want to, but remember not to use silicone-based lubes on the Buddy.

I kept mine in the plastic cylinder it came it for a long time, but have since tossed it out.

Sometimes anal is the main event, and sometimes it's just a sideshow. Even after the Buddy seems too small and squishy for socks-rocking butt play, it's still a nice addition to the party.
