This was a toy made for savoring. Beyond the obvious visual appeal, there is a very unique textural experience to be had with the Gold ribbed G-spot wonder.
When I first got the toy, I tried for the fast and furious thrusting orgasm that I'm accustomed to with g-spot toys. No dice. Moving the toy in and out too quickly completely deteriorated the feel of the bumps on the shaft, and I couldn't climax at all.
Slowly is the key. In and out, over the clit, back in, then twist. It was the perfect combination to maximize the features on this unique toy.
At a slow pace, I could feel each ribbing as I pulled the toy in and out. And while thrusting didn't do much for me in terms of my g-spot, when I had the toy inside and rotated it, the faint s-curve of the toy gave a nice alternating pressure inside me so, even though I wasn't hitting my g-spot, I was getting enough sensation to satisfy.
On the clit, the toy must also be moved slowly to maximize the effects of the toy's texture. Moving quickly, I couldn't feel the texture and was barely stimulated, but going slowly – sometimes agonizingly so – I could feel each bump and groove sliding my clit around.
My first successful trial with this toy, I took forty five minutes to orgasm, which is considerable since I can climax for the first time in anywhere between ten and twenty minutes with other toys. But, again, quick just didn't work with this toy. It demanded I put aside time for it, whimper at it, and adore it before I was allowed orgasm.
Be warned, however, that the handle gets very slippery, very quickly and isn't frosted for an easier grip. There were times I had to stop and wipe off a hand or the handle so I could continue without fear of the toy slipping out of my hand. After three years, this toy is still in prime condition. It has neither lost its luster nor its rank as a high quality toy. While it isn't the first item that I go to in my toy box, it still provides a wonderful experience if, as mentioned before, I take it slow and luxuriate in the play.
The fact that the product's lasted three years speaks volumes for its craftsmanship. Both the toy and the satin bag it came in are in wonderful shape, and the easily sterilized glass will, no doubt, ensure that I can enjoy the toy for many more years. While I've had other non-glass toys between my initial writing and this followup, none of them have had the durability of this glass product.
The fact that the product's lasted three years speaks volumes for its craftsmanship. Both the toy and the satin bag it came in are in wonderful shape, and the easily sterilized glass will, no doubt, ensure that I can enjoy the toy for many more years. While I've had other non-glass toys between my initial writing and this followup, none of them have had the durability of this glass product.

I like Athena. It's one of the few dildos in general that will hit my G spot. I think the only glass one.

I've had 4 glass dildos, so I guess that doesn't count as a wide variety. My favourite is the Amethyst, though. It works so well for me that I haven't looked for any other glass g-spot toys since I got it a year ago.

Gold ribbed G-spot -vs- Gold Fumed Rocky Road

These toys seem very similar in size and texture. The difference being the flared based on the Gold Fumed. Has anyone seen these toys close up in a side by side. Or better yet, tried both? What are your impressions.
*edit- One of the comments i noticed: The texture bumps on the shaft of the Gold Fumed, are not as close together as the picture makes it appear. This got me wondering. -
We have the Gold Fumed G-spot Wonder. It's quite a nice toy - but we only use it as a warm up - it's not large enough to really do the deed for my wife.
