Happy...happy...happy! That's the way I feel every time we use the Happy Valley Big Boy dildo. When we first started using toys a few months ago, I shared on the Eden forums that I couldn't understand why anyone would want a dildo when you can have a vibrator. Now, I understand why so many people love dildos.

The Happy Valley Big Boy is listed on Eden's website as a dildo. However, when I went to the Happy Valley website, Big Boy was listed as a vibrator. So is it a vibrator or a dildo? The answer is...both!

Thanks to a 3.25" deep hole in him, Big Boy can be used as either a vibrating dildo or alone as a dildo. This Big Boy is so anxious to please you that he can be used anally, vaginally, with an O-ring and if you had a suction cup, he would be awesome in it due to his curved shape. If you consider the fact that you can use him all of those ways either with the vibrator or without his vibrator, you can get a lot of "bang" for your buck.

We love to sit him in a container of hot water for a few minutes before playtime.

Previously, my experiences had been with the following dildos: Sportsheet's Sedeux Flare, Pipedream's Fetish Fantasy Elite 6" curved dildo and the Tantus Goliath. When I ordered this dildo, I also ordered the Tantus O2 Cush. I share this information because I hope to compare Big Boy to those dildos and help you understand the differences.

Both the Sedeux Flare and the Fantasy Elite curved dildo left me frustrated due to their lack of girth. Both are high quality toys and deserve good ratings even though they weren't for me. Of the two, I preferred the Flare for its silicone.

Most of my comparisons will be between Big Boy and the Tantus Goliath and the O2 Cush.

The Goliath is a super-firm silicone dildo that can also take a vibrator. However, my husband and I were joking that the Goliath is the type of dildo that you hide under your pillow and use to knock out a thief who might sneak in during the night because it is so firm and "packs a punch". I love the Goliath for his raised veins and he's a lot of fun - don't get me wrong. However, if Goliath were used a bit forcefully, he could hurt your cervix.

The O2 Cush is...different. It will never be firm enough to hurt your cervix, that is sure.

So what about the Big Boy? The Big Boy has a great medium-hard silicone. He is somewhere between Goliath and the Sedeux Flare when it comes to his firmness. He fits really well in a harness and doesn't wobble as you move because he is so firm.

Big Boy also has some veins but they are not as pronounced as the veins on Goliath. With Goliath, you can really feel the veins when you use him, with Big Boy you might feel the veins or you might not, depending upon how sensitive you are that day. He definitely didn't feel smooth, just not overly textured.

What we noticed with Big Boy was that when he enters, because of his head's shape and size, there is a "pop" to him - both in sound and in the way he feels. If you like the feeling of a toy entering and pulling out and then entering again, then you will like Big Boy. Once he's in, he doesn't hurt, I don't mean that. But his head is designed in such a way as to give a "pop" if you like that.

While we're talking about material, let me point out that Big Boy is made from silicone that is food-grade material. It is hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous and phthalates free. Silicone is rated 10 on the Eden Fantasys safety scale.

I love the shape of Big Boy because I prefer curved toys. Where Goliath is about the same length and diameter, Goliath is firm and has no curve to him. You can bend him slightly, but he doesn't just automatically seek out the G-spot. The O2 Cush is a bit taller than Big Boy and has a bit more diameter, but he too is designed more as a straight dildo.

It feels like Happy Valley designed Big Boy to curve and hit the G-spot upon entry.

I often read that toys are for "beginner users" or "advanced users". How do you know the difference? Well, I recommend Big Boy for anyone who can handle his dimensions and likes a lightly textured dildo.

Speaking of his dimensions, Big Boy is 6.5" in total length with 6" being insertable. His diameter is 1.5" and he fits a 1.5" O-ring just fine.

As a comparison, the Tantus Goliath is 7" total with 6.5" being insertable and 1.75" in diameter. He has more prominent veins and is a harder/denser silicone.

For the final comparison, the O2 Cush is 7" in length, with a total of 6.75" being insertable. He has a 1.75" circumference, has a couple of very pronounced veins but is much softer than the other two dildos.

All 3 dildos work well with an O-ring and both Goliath and Big Boy work with a small vibrator inside.

Happy Valley's Big Boy makes me....happy! I love how he performs both with and without the vibrator inside.

When he first arrived, my husband had the bright idea of using an egg shaped bullet from our Dual Passions Bullet duo to create vibrations since he has a large enough hole to stick that partly in. That vibrator did a good job, although I found that I liked Big Boy even without the vibrations, which shocked me.

The next time we used Big Boy, we decided to try the bullet that he comes with. I've always sworn that I would not get hooked on a vibrator that uses batteries that are smaller than AAA. I said that they would never give me enough vibration and would not have enough power.

I admit it - I was wrong. The bullet uses 3 LR44 watch batteries and is a bit buzzy and perhaps noisier than some folks would like, especially if you live in a dorm. However, I loved the vibrations, particularly as Big Boy would reach up and touch my G-spot.

A Tip for inserting the bullet
If you plan to use a bullet with this dildo, any bullet in fact, you will want to coat it with a bit of water-based lube so that it will come out easier for removing the batteries or changing them.

Also, if you are using the bullet, I would not consider Big Boy to be waterproof. However, if you are not using a bullet with him, you should be able to play with Big Boy in the shower or tub or in water anywhere you choose.

While this may be "too much information", my husband stated that when we used Big Boy with the bullet it came with, my reactions went from "oooh" to "oh my God...oh my God....Oh my God" and kept on going from there. He stated that there was a noticeable difference and when we tried holding the Big Boy in our hands we realized why there was a difference between the sensation of the two bullets. When we used the dildo with the larger bullet, it was unable to go all the way in. It gave deeper vibrations but only in the bottom 3" of the toy. When we inserted the smaller bullet that came with Big Boy all the way in however, the whole dildo vibrated, especially the bulbous head.

We found that Big Boy worked great in a harness and was easy to insert in the harness and to use internally too. We did not use him for anal insertion, but he is flexible and yet sturdy enough to be inserted fairly well I think.

My husband had me sit on the bed and "ride" him a bit and I must say that if he was a tad bit shorter (maybe 1/4"), I would be looking for a suction cup to use with him. He gives a very good "ride" that way too.

Because he can be used so many ways, both with and without the vibrator, I am tagging him as having "lots of variety in function".

This toy is very easy to care for and you have several options for cleaning. You can boil it for three minutes or toss it in the top shelf of the dishwasher. You can wash it with soap and water or use a toy cleaner on it also. If you choose to use the dishwasher or boiling, please make sure to remove the bullet first.

While I highly recommend using lubrication with this toy due its drag, please do NOT use silicone-based lubes as they may cause a reaction with the toy. It is best to be safe and stick to water-based lubes.

I read recently that it is recommended that you store your dildos with them standing up so they will hold their shape. I never knew that before but recommend that you find a way to store it that way.

The only thing I did not like about Happy Valley's Big Boy was his packaging. He came in a plastic bag with a bright label which had a few instructions. If he had come in a box like the Tantus dildos, I would have something to store him in better.
