G-spot vibrator discontinued

Amazing Looking Letdown

The shape and size of this toy are very exciting and would make an excellent first toy. However, for anyone who already knows how to masturbate successfully without toys or already owns toys, this toy would be a poor addition to your collection. A first time user may quickly out-grow this toy, though. It was very unimpressive and boring.

Use

The Pearl Shine vibrator is marketed as a g-spot toy, but after using it it's difficult to understand why. There is no prominent curve, it bends too much in the wrong places for firm stimulation, and it's only just barely long enough if you really stretch to reach the g-spot.

This vibrator is great for beginners, for someone who has never used toys before, or possibly someone who has never orgasmed before either. It's not a bad toy, per se, it's just very basic and has zero bells or whistles. It's best used in addition to another toy or with a partner (like during oral). It's very small and versatile but there isn't anything awe-inducing or exciting about it. The texture and shape feel fine, but certainly not fabulous or even very stimulating.

The Pearl Shine doesn't provide enough stimulation as a standalone toy as there is barely any vibration at all and it is shorter and thinner than the average penis (it's roughly the size of someone's middle finger in length and girth). It could possibly by used to stimulate other areas of the body, like a tickler or for sensory play, but it wouldn't work as a massager because it lacks enough power and doesn't produce any localized vibration. This toy doesn't have a flared base and seeing as the vibrations are very low, I would only recommend it for external anal play. Ultimately it's a barely satisfactory clitoral vibrator when used with other stimulation.

Material / Texture

This vibrator is made of rubber. Rubber is very porous which causes it to retain bacteria, germs, and smells. It is recommended to use a condom when playing with rubber toys, but this toy is too small for condoms unless you buy specialty ones. The product description says this toy is ribbed, but it's really more like a graduated toy with each section getting smaller towards the top. The texture doesn't provide any extra stimulation either, unfortunately. It is flexible, but in all the wrong places. It bends where the cords connect to the motor (you can see them clearly) which could cause the toy to break and make the toy unsafe to use. It isn't squishy; if you squeeze it it's hard and doesn't give at all (unless you're squeezing where the cords are). You can definitely feel where the motor is as well and it's very hard and can be painful. Play cautiously with this toy, wash it really well, and do not bend it!

Design / Shape / Size

This is the one slightly redeeming quality of this toy. The size and shape are great for anyone looking for a smaller toy. It's about the size of someone's middle finger in length and girth. The package says it's 6 inches in length. However, most people won't hold onto this toy with two fingertips so the insertable portion is more like four inches. On the plus side, since the toy is so small it's really unassuming and can be hidden very well, which also makes it pretty unappealing visually. At first glance it could easily pass for a funny shaped tube of mascara or a tampon though. It is shiny but it only comes in pink, unfortunately for those of you who prefer less feminine-looking toys like I do.

The dial that controls the speed of the toy is at the end and is supposed to be the handle, but between holding the toy and inserting it, it's impossible to get near the g-spot. This toy would need to be slightly longer and fatter to be able to accomplish g-spot stimulation. Imagine trying to masturbate with a grooved, wooden pencil that's been sharpened to a dull nub.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The performance of this toy was less than sub par. It was a huge let down. It turns on and off the same as any standard vibrator with a multi-speed dial which made it very easy and convenient to use, but the motor and vibrations in this toy were awful! It was supposed to have multiple speeds but it really only felt like one very pitiful speed. It turns on and off by spinning the dial on the handle. It does start vibrating as soon as you spin the dial, but it never changes speeds unfortunately. Most standard cell phones vibrate more than this toy does and would probably be more fun to use. It was extremely quiet though. This was a plus, but the soft sound wasn't worth what the vibrations seriously lacked. There is nothing on the packaging to indicate that this toy is waterproof and I wouldn't trust it in the water anyways.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is made of rubber and while it may seem easy to clean, it is impossible to completely sterilize. It's recommended to use condoms with rubber toys but this toy is way too small for standard condoms. The best way to clean this toy would be to use toy cleaner and/or specialty wipes and then to store it in a sterilized, cool, dry place away from other toys. (They say you can store rubber with other toys, but I wouldn't simply because of how porous rubber is and how easily it would spread germs.)

Since this toy is rubber, it is safe with water based and silicone lubricants but not creams.

!!On an important note:!! this toy is not latex- or phthalate-free; so if you're allergic to latex and want to stay away from harmful chemicals then I wouldn't use this toy.

Packaging

The packaging on this toy is like a huge pink elephant in the room. There was a BIG picture of a naked woman on it with none of her parts blurred out and the plastic holding the toy is see through. It came in the standard, plastic casing that most toys come in and could be recycled with other plastics of its kind. The packaging would be terrible as a gift or storage box. Recycle it as soon as you open the toy unless you want to keep the picture as inspiration for later.

Personal comments

I used this toy twice. The first time to see what it was like and the second to be sure I gave it a fair judgement. It was extremely boring and weak by itself. It's performance seemed to improve greatly when my partner added it to some oral play and when it was paired with my hitachi, but alone it was extremely yawn inducing. If you're looking for your first toy, then this might be the ticket for you because it's cheap and not intimidating at all. Otherwise, steer clear of this toy and use the money you would have spent on this to get a better toy for the same price.

Follow-up commentary
I'm still not a fan of this toy. The rubber and bad size have found this toy mostly unused at the bottom of my toy chest. It had so many flaws that I doubt I'll ever use it again unless I'm in a real bind and can't use my hands to get myself off. I'd choose humping the wall over using this toy again.

LOL huge elephant in the room. I do not think this toy is for me. Although the graduate design sounds nice, porous material does not. Last thing I would want to do is buy condoms for toy usage, when I do not even use them for sex. Thanks for the review, look forward to more from you.

Sorry the toy didn't work out for you. I think I would be concerned about the vibe bending where the wires pass through as well. Seems like an electrical accident waiting to happen.

I'm bummed this toy wasn't what I was hoping it would be, but I did my best to give it a fair review. I'm very careful about not bending it because the cords are pretty obvious. I'd like to keep from getting shocked or injured. Plus the whole not being able to use condoms with it is a big deal. I'd skip this one because there are other cheaper vibrators that are sooooo much better than this one.

I wouldn't recommend a 1 vroom toy to someone who hasn't had an orgasm before. They would probably need something with a bit of power if nothing they've tried has been successful yet.

I'd recommend this toy to my sister because she's never masturbated or had sex before. That's what I meant by suggesting it to someone who's never orgasmed. It's a very simple toy and wouldn't be intimidating for a beginner.
