While I initially used the toy at home, I then took Maia on the road. Lavender and gray, Maia stylishly resembles a cosmetic case (an extra thoughtful detail), which makes it even more discreet. Made of plastic, about 2 1/2" of its 4 1/4" length is insertable. It functions with a turn for on/off and is powered by three watch batteries.

Finally, batteries are included. Not only are batteries included, but since it only requires 3 and 6 are provided, a back-up/second set is provided. This ranked Maia way up there because when I considered how many of the toys I own or have owned that came with batteries as well as an additional set, I could not recall a single purchase that included TWO sets of batteries… but… I found that the batteries did not last that long (thank goodness for the extra set). Given that my watches seem to have exponentially longer lives, this aspect could be troubling, especially if in the midst of the moment.

I found the Maia to be one of the best personal massagers/portable toys precisely due to its size, design, and stimulation. A guide is even included in the packaging about sensitive spots and hence, where/how to apply the toy. The insertable part is shaped like a lipstick, but is significantly thinner. Yet, it delivers orgasmic, multi-speed vibrations, which provide true entertainment value en route to the market. Who knew errands could be so enjoyable. What’s more, the massager could be used with a partner or in conjunction with another toy, such as the one from Happy valley (realistic dildo), which lacks clitoral stimulation.

Perhaps, the size of this double penetration toy is precisely why it is right in the middle when it comes to noise level. It gives off more of a hum, again perhaps because other larger toys I have recently used generated louder and more recognizable sounds.
