Lube? Lip Gloss? Fail on Both Counts

If you're looking for a lip gloss that offers both form and function, I'm not sure that I would recommend this one. It feels unpleasant enough that I wouldn't want my mouth near someone else's genitals and offers little aesthetically besides a bit of gloss. A dedicated product that focuses on lips or adding sensation would be better.

The EroStick lip gloss tube itself is clear with a black cap. There's no label on it, so it's definitely discreet enough to carry around in your purse or keep on your counter. Kama Sutra packages it in a box, like many lip glosses. The box is super cute, however. It's red and black with the KS logo on it. It's wider than it is deep so it's different from other cardboard tubes, but I tossed that right away. It's not necessary.

This lip gloss has a very thick texture. When you move the wand in the tube, you can see that the gloss is almost thick. It's more than a gel. This creates a lot of suction and the gloss stays exactly in place as you remove the wand. It doesn't fill in the holes the way a liquid does.

The wand, which is your typical fuzzy-end kind, doesn't seem different, however. The gloss glides on my lips easily. It adds just a tint of color, but it's mostly transparent despite how much color there is in the tub. This isn't the gloss you want if color is your thing. In fact, KS says this is clear over all, so it shouldn't really matter which scent you get -- your pucker will look the same either way. This is good if you like mint but don't want your mouth to be bluish green. Pick the scent you like best, not the color. I went with strawberry because I prefer a pinker hue on my lips, but I can't help but wonder if I would like cherry better as you'll see..

I immediately noticed the scent. The strawberry smell reminds me a lot of dry Kool-aid packets – powdery, too sweet and artificial. I know this will be a deal breaker for some people. I personally don't enjoy it. A generically-sweet taste accompanies the smell.

Kama Sutra's gloss is a little sticky, but it's actually not quite as bad as others I've used. Yes, your hair will get stuck in it on a windy day, but you won't need to cut all your hair off to get it free, either. Still, your partner might not enjoy kissing you while this is on your lips. However, I could rub my lips together smoothly. The feel of this on my lips is probably what I like best.

After a few moments, I definitely noticed a warm tingling. To be honest, I don't think that I like it. It's a little overpowering and painful at places. Now, you could attempt to reduce this by wearing less gloss, but I didn't put a whole lot on. Your mileage may vary but I'd advise caution with this just like I would with warming lube. You never know how you're going to react to it. However, KS does advertise this as "allergy tested" -- whatever that means.

You would think that this led to a plumpness in my lips as that's usually what tingles mean, but it didn't. My lips look glossy but the same in terms of size. Overall, I feel like I would have gotten a better deal with some colored gloss that plumps or some tingling/warming lube.

While the ingredients list includes no parabens, it's rather chemical-laden. Other glosses on this site have ingredients like shea butter, Vitamin E so on and so forth that would do a better job keeping your lips moist. Mine felt a little dry after using this. It's not uncommon with glosses, which is why I often slather on some chapstick first.
