Made by Sinclair Intimacy Institute, Optima is a great pair of vaginal balls. They are made out of 100% silicone (the exterior at least), which means they are body-safe, non-porous, and super easy to clean. However, there is no included information on the material for the interior of the balls, where the weights are placed. Nonetheless, these balls are also latex-free, PVC-free and phthalates-free, making them a good match for most women.

Optima is used to strengthen PC muscles for ease of childbirth, overcoming urinary incontinence, or having stronger orgasms from having more control over your vaginal muscles. Because these are weighted (weighing 0.75 oz), the movement of the inner weights make your PC muscles contract involuntarily. After a routine of using these often, you should see results of stronger muscles. I however haven't used these long enough to notice any difference.

The texture is velvery smooth with no noticeable seams. The balls themselves are hard, though the cord can be pulled and stretched.

When I first received the package, I thought the balls were way too big. In fact, they are 4 1/2 inches in circumference and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. They are 8 inches long, from the first ball to the tip of the cord loop, with about 6 1/2 inches of those being insertable, since you're supposed to leave the cord out. Being as this was my first adventure with such a product, I didn't really know what to expect, and actually thought the balls would be smaller. However, I realized that if they were any smaller, I wouldn't really have felt them at all.

Although a little apprehensive to try them given the size, I realized quickly that they slipped in very comfortably, and were comfortable while in (though the retrieval string that I left outside of my body was a bit uncomfortable). Getting them out was a little uncomfortable, but really not that bad. The loop on the retrieval cord made removal very easy. Both putting them in and taking them out was done without the use of lube, and it was completely fine.


I left these in for a few hours. Now, I'm not sure if they actually provided me with any pleasure, or if it was a mind-over-matter thing, but I did notice myself being turned on while they were inside me. The movement of the weights is supposed to induce subtle vibrations that lead to pleasure, so it could have been that!

So amazingly simple to clean, simply use antibacterial soap and water or a toy cleaner, and they'll be as good as new. Lint, hair, and debris do not cling to these balls, which is a huge plus for me. These balls are also waterproof. Optima came in a high quality white box. Though, no instructions were provided.

Although I haven't been using these Optima balls, I still think they are a high-quality, safe product. I would absolutely still recommend them.
