Waterwhirl - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by ~LaUr3n~

Personally, I wouldn't take the Waterwhirl in water, but I would do a lot of other things with it. The curved ergonomic shape is excellent. It fits in the palm of the hand perfectly, and slides into a purse unnoticed. Made for clitoral stimulation, the Waterwhirl is actually a wonderful g-spotter if you have a shallow g-spot. It curves wonderfully inside of me to hit my g-spot right on the head. It only has two speeds, which might not be enough for everyone, but I found a lot of enjoyment out of this toy. It's non-intimidating and easy to use so this great for a beginner too. Well made, simple, and solid, the Waterwhirl is an excellent staple to a toy collection.

The Waterwhirl is made of ABS plastic. It feels thick and durable. ABS plastic is an 8 on the Eden Material Safety Scale. It's safe for the body by being a food-grade material that is hypo-allergenic and free of latex and phthalates, so it is hypo-allergenic. It is also non-porous, so it won't harbor bacteria with a vengeance. The plastic is obviously rigid and hard with no flex or give. The surface has a coarser matte feel to it that makes it easier to hold with lubed up fingers. There is smell or odor to the material.

The Waterwhirl might not impress you until you have it in your hand. As a woman, with what I would consider a pretty average hand size (7" from the time of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm) this toy feels like it was made for me! In a way, it fits in my hand like a computer mouse.



One end is a bit smaller than the other and this end is what should be used for pin pointing the stimulation of the vibration. It's about 4 3/8" long. The smaller end is about 1 1/4" wide in the center of its bulbed design. The insertable length for this vibrator is about 3 1/4". The end bulb has a max circumference of 4", but some might insert this to where it is about 4 3/4" right before the control button. Between the two ends of the Waterwhirl is a thinner area that gives the vibrator sort of a pear shape. This is where most will probably insert the toy to since it feels most natural. This is due to the natural shaped curve. It's like a kidney bean! Not too straight, not too drastic. The insertable portion does have a seam, but it has been smoothed out, so I can't feel it internally.



The larger part of the vibrator does not get inserted, and it is 1 5/8" across. On top of it is the California Exotics stamp in white writing. Directly beneath that is the single button for this toy. It's round, raised, and 3/8" across. It is hard to push and makes a loud clicking sound when it is depressed and then again when it is released. This may annoy some people.

The very end looks a bit futuristic. There are two circles that jut out. Each have circles within circles that create texture for gripping. If you grip both sides and pull out the cap will pop off revealing a battery compartment where two AAA slide in. The cap gets pushed back on. If you don't line up the triangle indicators, the toy will not turn on.

This toy is incredibly discreet since it is so small, remote control like in looks, and it fits into many spaces. It's a great travel toy for a purse, luggage, and possibly even in just your pocket.

The Waterwhirl is controlled by a single push button. It has two steady speeds. The single button cycles through on, the speeds, and then turns it off.

1. This speed is steady and buzzy but very solid. I use the word solid to describe the consistency of the vibrations. The level is enough to finish most women and is what I would consider medium (compared to all the other vibrators I have tried it is average). The vibrations are concentrated in the first inch of the vibrator, but can be felt throughout the toy. The noise level is fairly low and cannot be heard through a door or across a room if the toy is inside the body. For some reason, the noise increases a little when it makes contact with the body externally.

2. This speed is only slightly more powerful than the first. The difference is almost unnoticeable. The noise barely increases, as well. The vibrations are concentrated in the same areas.

The toy is advertised as being completely waterproof, but the battery compartment worries me. The waterproof seal is thick, but I am weary of submerging toys that don't have locking battery compartments or at ones that twist down. This one just clicks in. It did pass a splash test and being taken into a shower, but I didn't run it under a stream of water or submerge it. It cannot be heard over a shower.

Plastic is easily wiped down with a toy wipe, cleaned with toy cleaner or a damp wash cloth and anti-bacterial soap. The material does no retain smells. It can also be used with any kind of lubricant. I used water based and that worked just fine. It can be stored pretty much anywhere. I would keep it out of direct sunlight. Let it dry and remove the batteries before storing.

I like the packaging because it is simple and effective. It comes in a collapsible plastic tube. It is light weight and clear. The front shows the toy through a pane and says the name of the toy. The back has a little bit about the toy, safety, and the company. It works well for storage, but because of its domed shape it does store well with other boxes.

At first I used the Waterwhirl externally and didn't immediately think to insert it. Clitorally, the vibrations are just fine for me and can bring me to an orgasm quickly, but the vibrations can hurt at the highest point of arousal and I have to remove the toy and then finish my orgasm with my fingers which doesn't produce the most powerful orgasm. Internally, this toy curls right up to my g-pot as if it were made for me! Since it doesn't flex, I can apply pressure and really get a nice stimulation from this! I was unable to achieve g-spot orgasm but it made it easier to then have sex with my partner and achieve one that way. It's rare for me to get a g-spot orgasm from a toy. It usually has to be deep rumbly vibrations from a firm silicone toy. Regardless, I'm pretty impressed with this little guy! It's a nice no fuss vibe. It does suck that is really only has one vibration, but is built well and the shape is perfect ergonomic. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I'm bumping it to 4 since it has a solid construction for a really good price and is made of safe materials. Plus, it can finish me quickly!
