Stellar shapely
The toy has a great shape and fun for my body, but there's only one (maybe two!) speeds and the controls are unreliable, and without much oomph.Published: October 27, 2010
Pros:
Very fun shape, flexible, soft and sexy
Cons:
Electronics flicker
Use
Best perhaps as a vaginal vibrator - although the graduated portion is good for anal, the nubbies and where the vibrations are lend this to be a bit more of a vaginal vibrator. Ideally a toy like this you wouldn't want to switch between the two at all, or with a condom.
Material / Texture
The vibe is predominantly a velvety, softer TPR. The soft catchy surface can be nice on a nipple without lube, while it holds lube (and germs!) pretty well. It still has a slight rubber smell, nothing you can detect more than a few inches away from the toy. Since rubber like this can never be sterilized, NEVER share this toy without a condom. Yes, it might dull the nubby sensation, but its best. Use toy cleaner, or wash in soap and water - but beware, its probably just water resistant. More on that later.

Design / Shape / Size
The shape is probably the absolute best part of this - I like the graduated thickness, allowing me to go pretty far on good days...or if I'm tight, just stick to the first head or bump! The nubbies are definitely interesting - usually I go for traditional vibes without nubbies. The first head is probably a little less than an inch diameter, with the neck slightly smaller around 3/4". The first big bump is about 1.25", with the second and third being 1.3" and 1.5" respectively. There aren't any edges to catch, and the entire toy is very soft - it has a lot of give, and very flexible. I've flexed it quite a bit just experimentally - with no stress lines or indication it was stretching. There's some give in the material at the base where the batteries are housed, but there is a LOT of give in the middle. I could basically bend this in 180 degrees. If I could figure out how to use it properly, I bet I could figure out a way to hit my g-spot after a while, but I'm not much of a g-spot girl. The vibrations come from the very top of the head - again, good for g-spot usage, but unfortunately due to the large amount of flexibility, the vibes don't really travel down the shaft much (good if you're prone to numb hands, I guess!)
Getting the toy down to the base while it was inside me was pretty enjoyable - this toy would make a great dildo by itself, if it had a little longer base to handle. I wouldn't recommend going past the last ridge while using it anally at all, especially if you have a hungry butt. The toy is flexible enough that it could potentially travel up. I had a little difficulty gripping things when they got wet, so I ended up not going as deep as I would have liked.

Functions / Performance / Controls
Controls are where this toy falls on its face. I had to try this several times to get a consistent sample - which tells you something, the controls are inconsistent. It does have a turn-dial base, and the dial is easy to turn. That said, I could only detect two different settings - low and lowish, the first time I played with this. There was a small gap where no vibes occurred between the two modes, if you turn the dial slowly. The later times I've played with this, there is only one setting - lowish. While the vibes are centered on the head, they rarely travel down to the shaft.
I've also noticed this toy flickering on while being held or flexed - I'm willing to bet the wiring is a little funky, or unprotected, on the inside. This toy's packaging and info claim its waterproof, but the hard plastic that makes the dial is a little low quality - when I washed it the first time, it got stuck 'on'. The water must have gotten inside to the dial control, and that was only from a little water splashing. I doubt its water-resistant, even waterproof. The more I bend this toy and mess around with it, the more it flickers on and off. Definitely don't store the batteries inside the toy, as it might turn on in your toy box.
A good point for this toy, however, is the sound - there's hardly much of any sound, nothing I can hear from outside the bed comforter, if I leave it on under the covers.

- Discreet sound
- Not enough variety
- Weak
Care and Maintenance
TPR is somewhat porous - this toy is alright for yourself, but if you switch erogenous zones or partners, definitely use a condom. I'm probably going to have to end up wiping this toy down with a wet cloth instead of running it under the sink and washing it, and that just makes me shiver and think about how I can't get rubber clean.
-
- Hard to clean
- High maintenance
Packaging
No real instructions. There's itty bitty tiny diagrams on the inside of the toy as to how to put the batteries in - and the box really only gives a couple blurbs about the toy. "Waterproof, multi-speed vibrator made with safe TPR rubber."
-
- Minimal
- Not discreet
Experience
I wish the electronics were fine. I really do. I'll probably just take the batteries out and use it as a short dildo, without the vibes.
Follow-up commentary
I still don't like it
3 months after original review
Still switches on and off if I put batteries in it...still kinda weak. Alright as a dildo with the nubbies and all, but it just seems like a whole lot of possible potential wasted. It's going to sit in the back of my drawer for a while...

Thank you for viewing Stellar vibe venus – vibrator review page!

I had thought about this and now I might just find something a little better (and a little more waterproof). Thanks for the review.
Bugger - I have this on my wish list but it sux about the wiring being iffy. Thanks for the review!
You get what you pay for - its a very inexpensive vibe when this thing is on sale.
Did you use it for thrusting at all? If so, what was it like?
The few times I've used it lately its been for thrusting - maybe I got a bad one but the electronics are still on the fritz whenever I put the batteries in. The studs aren't sharp or anything, so if you like bumpy/nodules/veins etc you'll probably like this.
Thanks for the review! Too bad it's so cheap.
Great review, thanks.
