One thing about cock rings is they probably work best if you are shaved so no hair gets tugged out during use or when removing the ring - this is especially true of the stretchy silicone ring.
As I mentioned before putting on a metal ring can be tricky - you put your balls through first, then press your flaccid penis through - then adjust the ring around your package. If you're erect or even semi-erect, the ring will not go on, so timing is important. Some people use lube - I do not because my first metal ring would come off - even though it seemed so hard to get on. The more I use this gem, the more I like it. I've taken to wearing it when going commando. The weight feels great and having it on makes me ready to go whenever the wife gets home.

metal rings - dangerous?

i recently bought an Omega stainless steel cock ring for my partner. i bought the largest size , 2 1/8 in diameter, which i think should fit him well (though i didn't get the chance to measure him). we've used many rubber/silicone vibrating cock rings before - the kind with 2 loops for the cock and balls, but they are kind of irritating because they pull at your hairs, so i thought metal would be a good change.
after reading about them on EF, many people seem to be concerned/intimidated by metal rings in particular. i was wondering just HOW dangerous these metal rings could possibly be? we've never had problems with the stretchier kinds before.

you should be fine, assuming that the ring is not too small for him to get off after your done. I would measure him just to be on the safe side. Remember to not leave it on for longer then 30 minutes.

So it seems most reviews I've read people tend to start with the biggest size 2 1/8. I was just wondering why they even bother making smaller than that? Most of what I have seen people regret buying the smaller sizes.

Different sizes need to be offered for different guys. Not all guys are the same size. The big thing with a metal ring is they are not easily removed in an emergency. You can not cut stainless with a pair of side cutters as stainless is very hard. So my guess is that guys buy the bigger size to prevent problems. Plus it will make it easier to get the whole package, balls and cock, through.
For me a C-ring like this would be used for the "Bling" factor, not for sustaing a erection. -
I had one a few years ago, and I believe it was 1 7/8. It fit perfectly and was very comfortable for long term wear of a few hours. Any larger and it would not have worked properly for me.
