Better than being in a coma

I would not have paid money for this video. I enjoyed the first scene and hopefully would have been able to take my partner upstairs and have sexy fun time; but if I had to stay and watch the rest of the video, we would have gone to bed angry and unsatisfied. Were I not as openly sexual as I am I would have been embarrassed after the initial turn on.

Beautifully erotic for the first twenty mins, a turn on.
Cons
Lost me after the first scene and never got me back to an aroused expected state.

Awakening to Love is a sexy mixed romp of erotic adventures defined by tragedy. This video is part of the New Sensations Romance series designed to entice the lover of romance into viewing hot action with her significant other. Awakening to Love combines erotic cinematography in its opening action sequence to really start your juices flowing. The character Theresa [Samantha Ryan] and her fiancé Stuart [Dale Dabone] have a sensual, candlelit sex scene in the beginning. You can feel their chemistry and want to bring out your vibrator to play along with the intimate look into their private sex life. The orgasms are real.

When the hot fun is over, your senses are jarred by ineffectual dialogue, setting up the scene for nearly twenty minutes of mood killing while a comatose Theresa is pontificated over by her fiancé and friends. Consolation of tears ties into a not-quite effective sex scene with co-stars whose dirty talk reminds me of listening to my college roommate's attempt at getting it on. The tender "I love you's" given after the fucking were not believable and irritated my viewing rather than returning me to a romantic state.

More soap opera style conversation and overdubbed narration explained that while Theresa's fiancé waited a long time his "body needed to move on". I waited for this to turn into a sexy scene with the hot nurse who consoled the heartbroken Theresa, but my hopes were thwarted. Two other patients in the hospital unrelated to Theresa began a romantic encounter. Their friendship heightened into a playful romp to seal their emotions in the medical supply closet.

The real romance and the chance encounter that provided Theresa with true love was found in her cheery hospital roommate [played by Danny Mountain]. His connection provided Theresa positive motivation and renewal of life and love. Their final scene was candid and sensual, showing the chemistry the two had for each other. Their vows of love were believable, as was their obvious enjoyment of each other's bodies.

The New Sensations Romance series declares that each volume "takes a different look at the complexities in the relationships between men and women". Awakening to Love does begin with romantic eroticism and an exploration between characters, but tries too hard to add plot to porn. The directors want a product that can be explored mutually with your partners, but unfortunately feels like a bad chick flick with porn thrown in.

If the film could have sustained the eroticism of the first encounter and the comfort level of the last encounter without the soap opera in the middle, Awakening to Love would have lived up to its aspirations. Love is the characterized central theme in this video, but the only chemistry of real orgasms and patient, sensual exploration made the stated words of love believable.

On a scale of "hard as a rock" or "limp", I give this video a semi. There were some enticing moments in the beginning and in the end, but poor acting, unbelievable dialogue, and obvious lack of chemistry among cast members made Awakening to Love wish I was in the coma.
Experience
I enjoyed the opening sequence greatly and was moved to find my Accuvibe; but the jarring, monotonous soap opera dialogue that followed made me lose my edge, and I put the vibrator away never to get it out again. Women are turned on physically by first engaging their mind. This series of videos is apparently designed for women who are hesitant about their sexuality and want a safe and sexy, realistic with fantasy added, video. The sudden turn of events followed by lengthy bad acting and dialogue turned me off so much I tweeted about it, which was actually more interesting than the video.

I will say that I am glad that the film showed condoms in use for safe sexual encounters. However, in the end, the "cum shot" all over the vagina that was just protected by the condom sends a mixed message.

I can't say other than the opening scene that I really enjoyed this video. I wish the whole movie could have been as sensual and enticing as the first scene. Too bad, I really wanted to like this film. I love the concept, it just could have been done better.
