Rachel Kramer Bussel put together quite a versatile and fun collection of fellatio stories in Tasting Him. Twenty-three stories are packed into 185 pages of this paperback title. The cover image, while sensual and playful in nature, doesn’t really prepare you for just how many different blow jobs are inside this book.

The short stories are written from various viewpoints, which brings a freshness to each story. Many are told in the mindset of the giver, some are told through the eyes of the receiver, and still others are from either a third person involved or some omniscient narrator. Bussel concocted an order to the stories such that they don’t run together or seem repetitive.

While many of the stories involve heterosexual couples, some of these pairings involve silicone cock blow jobs. In one story, a woman makes a silicone clone of her partner’s cock, and then wears it herself in an interesting study of “Who’s cock is this, really?” Two stories of threesomes are included, as are a few queer tales.

Because each story has a different author, they all come with their own tones, moods, and settings. While there are a lot of eager cocksuckers, some are shy, while others love the camera. There are tales of long-term couples, random encounters, new relationships, and even an widower named Tony Tempo whose story, while erotic, is perhaps the most touching of all.

Bussel seems fond of public escapades, since there are plenty of exhibitionists and daring characters getting their thrills in Tasting Him. Blow jobs just happen all over the place: just outside a club, in a car, in the kitchen at a dinner party, on the beach, in front of a camera, and in front of an audience. Don’t worry, there’s a lot of private lovin’ going on as well if you’re into more intimate settings.

Two stories deal specifically with eroticizing food. While frosting with a blow job isn’t too surprising, how about cock and spaghetti sauce? The marinara-loving characters are just as believable and erotic as those who love blow jobs with extra icing. Only a couple stories involve BDSM themes, so if you need power exchange to enjoy erotica, this collection probably isn’t for you.
