I Would Like to Try That!

For my first erotic book, I really enjoyed it. I have no complaints to make, and I have told my wife that I think she would enjoy this. Maybe after she reads it, we will be able to incorporate some of it into our own play sessions.

About author

Best Bondage Erotica 2011 was edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. This was my first time reading an anthology of hers, and I was really pleased. It was all very enjoyable to read, and I will be looking at other books which she has edited and written in the future. In this book, there were 20 individual stories by 20 different authors with Rachel writing one of them herself.

Content / Style / Audience

Best Bondage Erotica 2011 is about various forms of bondage and bondage sex. It was not just about tying someone up to a bed, but it also includes waist training, rope bondage, and a naughty risque dinner out and ride home. It was mainly written from the sub's point-of-view, and it included both hetero and homosexual pairings. In total, the book had 20 different stories from 20 authors, and the shortest story appears to be 6 pages long while the longest was 19 pages long. In total, the book was 211 pages long with an introduction and a section at the end with information about each of the authors.

Design

This is a soft cover book. It is 211 pages long, and it measures 8 by 5.5 inches. On the front, there is a picture of a blond in latex stockings, corset, and arm guards, and it is a very sexy image. This is the same image repeated in the back, so it is definitely not public friendly unless you can keep the covers down and your excitement as you read it subdued.

Personal comments

I have never read an erotic novel before, but after reading Kayla's review of this book, I knew I wanted to read this one first. When I sat down, I read the introduction which I found to be very informative and nice because Rachel outlines the novel. In my first sitting, I only got as far as reading The Long Way Home, but it definitely hooked me, and I loved reading it. After 3 sittings, I was able to finish the book, and I really enjoyed it. Most of the stories I really loved, and there were only a few that I found enjoyable but not amazing. I will definitely be reading this book again, and I won't be skipping over any of the stories.

"Foreign Exchange" by Evan Mora included a Canadian couple living in NYC, and when they meet their neighbors, the Canadians discover that they are into bondage. After being invited in for tea, the NYC female dom tries to get the Canadian couple into their dungeon. After storming out because of the craziness of the proposition, eventually the Canadians come back and have a erotic session with the other couple.

"Relative Anonymity" by Emerald is about a small-town couple who marries early in life and later realizes that they are not made for each other and gets divorced. When the man invites his ex-wife back into town for some news, she expects that she is going to meet his new partner. She does eventually meet the new person in her ex-husband's life but gets a few surprises on the way, and she even gets to participate in something which she never realized she would enjoy.

"Wired by" Lisabet Sarai is about a female who works with all men in an engineering office. She falls for a new engineer, but all of her attempts to get him to notice her fail. Eventually she hacks into his computer, and she finds out what he enjoys in women. Later that night, when she knows he will be by himself backing up the computer system, she goes back into work and surprises him with some ethernet cables.

"Helen Lay Bound" by Suzanne V. Slate is about a female couple at college. One is a professor while the other is a grad student, and they are trying to keep their relationship secret. We get to experience a common day for them: from the time they wake up for a tight-lacing corset day, to bumping into each other during office hours and corset adjustment, through their evening with close friends, and when they finally get home and have their sexual release.

"Do You See What I Feel?" by Teresa Noelle Roberts is about an adventuresome couple in which the wife gets tied up in rope bondage hidden under a sweater dress. Later that night, the husband invites over an old friend to have dinner with them. While the wife thinks her rope secret is safe due to the friend being blind, she quickly discovers how strong a sense of touch that a blind person has.

These 5 stories were my absolute favorites out of the book, but almost all of them interested me in one way or another. I also have new ideas that I can incorporate into playtime with my wife. Cling wrap could be a lot of fun.
Follow-up commentary
It has been over a year and a half since I read this book, but that is not because it is bad. This was my first erotic novel and I really did enjoy. Then I went out and purchased quite a few more. But since the initial read, I have yet to pull it back out. But I want to read it again, I am just too busy. I still have 2 more books that I need to read for reviews, but I have a feeling that this one is going to be coming back out next after those. And by then, Best Bondage Erotica 2013 will be out.

I've never read an erotic novel before either, but I'd like to read one. Maybe I'll start with this book. Thanks for the review.

Your welcome Kayla. Its kinda funny that you were the one to edit my review.

~Venus~, obviously I thought it was a great read, so I would definitely recommend it to others.

    Thanks for reading Mr. E.

Bunnycups, I think this is an excellent first erotic book. Short enough that it is easy to read if you are limited on time, but long enough that you get good visuals for the story.
